Western Railway has advised for Partial cancellation of trains due to engineering works at Maliya miyana station in Ahmedabad Division as given below: ·Train No. 16335 Gandhidham BG – Nagercoil Express leaving Gandhidham BG at 10.35 hrs on 24th March, 2023 will be partially cancelled between Gandhidham BG and Ahmedabad. The train will commence service from Ahmedabad at its scheduled departure time of 15.30 hrs ·Train No. 16336 Nagercoil – Gandhidham BG Express that left Nagercoil Jn at 14.45 hrs on 21st March, 2023 will be partially cancelled between Ahmedabad and Gandhidham BG. The train will be short terminated at Ahmedabad Jn and the train will not run from Ahmedabad to Gandhidham BG.

WR Press Release No. 2023/03 Mumbai, 23rd March, 2023 TWO OF WR’S TICKET CHECKING STAFF COLLECT OVER Western Railway is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of two of its ticket-checking staff from Rajkot Division & Flying Squad of Churchgate. Shri K.D. Oza – Dy. Chief Ticketing Inspector (Dy.CTI) from Rajkot Division and Shri Zahid Qureshi – Dy. Chief Ticketing Inspector in Flying Squad at Churchgate has achieved the impressive milestone of collecting over Rs.1 Crore each as penalties from travelers traveling without proper tickets and carrying unbooked luggage. According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Shri K.D. Oza, Dy.CTI from Rajkot Division has collected Rs. 1.13 Cr from 14,928 cases in the current FY 2022-23 upto February 2023, while Shri Zahid Qureshi, Dy. CTI working in Flying Squad, Churchgate has collected Rs. 1.06 Cr with the detection of 13,116 cases from January to December 2022. Shri Ajmer Singh, Sr. Ticket Examiner (Sr.TE) from Ahmedabad Division has also shown outstanding performance and has collected Rs. 93.47 Lakh from 17,806 cases. Shri Thakur stated that WR’s women ticket-checking staff are not far behind their male counterparts in this field. Smt. Shail Tiwari, Dy. CTI from Ahmedabad Division is the topmost woman employee on WR to collect Rs.54.70 Lakh by detection of 7,293 cases up to February 2023. Smt. Geetaben Vasava, CTI in Flying Squad, Churchgate has collected Rs.51.19 Lakh from 7,085 cases. It is worthwhile to mention that Western Railway has earned Rs. 158.28 Crores as ticket-checking revenue from 23.70 lakh cases registered during the period from April 2022 – February 2023, which is an increase of 68.01% over the corresponding period of last year. Shri Thakur further added that the job of a ticket checker not only requires skill, and tactfulness to detect deceitful passengers traveling without a ticket among genuine travellers, but also requires good knowledge of rules and convincing skills to collect penalty amounts from deceitful passengers. Western Railway is proud to have such skillful & devoted ticket-checking staff. Western Railway appeals to all rail passengers to travel with valid tickets. ********
