World Day against human trafficking by

 RPF/SWR Bengaluru

In 2013, United Nations member states adopted a resolution that designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. This day aims to “raise awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and protection of their rights.

Railway Protection Force of SWR/Bengaluru Division took the initiative to spread awareness on the World Day against human trafficking among passengers at Bengaluru Station with a daily footfall of approx 2 lakh passengers. This programme was organised in collaboration with Childline, International Justice Mission, St Joseph's College and District Child Protection Committee, Bengaluru.

To attract the public and create awareness various skit plays were organised and signature campaigns were taken from the passengers visiting Bengaluru Station.  The highlight of the awareness was the human chain created by survivors of bonded labour and students of St Joseph College to spread awareness on the World Day against human trafficking in persons.
