North Central Railway on the forefront to safeguard Country from COVID-19
More than 40000 free cooked meals distributed to needy persons by North Central Railway In a bid to mitigate the pandemic, North Central Railwayhas produced about one Lakh reusable face masks and more than 5000 litres hand sanitizer Helplines (138 & 139) can also be used for any query or assistance related to parcel booking 1.North Central Railway employees fromall three divisions and HQ office have worked tirelessly to keep alive the Railways’ commitment of social service by selflessly and voluntarily providing hot cooked meals to needy people after the lockdown due to COVID-19. North Central Railway has been providing cooked food with paper plates or in food packets through RPF , Scouts & Guide , IRCTC base kitchen and many collective efforts from employees from all department . With these efforts NCR could serve more than 40000 meals during lockdown as per following details:
2.In continuation of the measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, North Central Railwayis making all out efforts to supplement the health care initiatives of Government of India. In this direction North Central Railway is producing reusable face masks and sanitizer in-house in all its divisions and workshops. North Central Railway inhouse production till 11th April 2020 is as under .
3.In order to assist railway users, other citizens and help resolve issues in freight operations etc, North Central Railway has upscaled the helpline facilities after declaration of Lockdown. Timely responseof all queries coming on 139 & 138 is being ensured and monitored by maintaining detailed log of each query and response. Very high priority is accorded to any query or assistance sought through 139 &138for booking of parcel or any related issue so assupply of essential goods is maintained during lockdown . Calls received on Helpline 138 are geo-fenced i.e calls land on the nearest Railway Divisional Control Office (manned round-the-clock by Railway personnel well-versed in local language and familiar with local issues) as per the location of the caller. This ensures that callers receive information and guidance in the language that they are comfortable speaking .
