दकà¥à¤·à¤¿à¤£à¤ªà¥‚रà¥à¤µà¤°à¥‡à¤²à¤µà¥‡ SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY पà¥à¤°à¥‡à¤¸à¤µà¤¿à¤œà¥à¤žà¤ªà¥à¤¤à¤¿ PRESS RELEASE BUDGET 2021-22 LAYS STRESS on CAPACITY AUGMENTATION WORKS IN HOWRAH-MUMBAI TRUNK ROUTE OF SER Kolkata, 15thFebruary, 2021: South Eastern Railway connects Eastern Part of the Country with the Western Part and trains originating from SER jurisdiction are running towards Maharashtra, Gujarat and other States of Western India. This Howrah-Mumbai Trunk Route is one of the busiest routes and augmentation of line capacity has become extremely necessary. In this route, SER jurisdiction is from Howrah to Jharsuguda which is of 515 km out of which approx 340 Km third line has already been constructed. To have a seamless train movement it is essential to have continuity in third line connectivity in this stretch to overcome the present saturated situation. Keeping this in view, Third Line Projects have been taken up between Kharagpur-Adityapur and Rourkela-Jharsuguda, so that the entire route from Howrah to Jharsuguda will have the same facility. Considering the above, provision has been made in the Budget 2021-22. Kharagpur-Adityapur Third Line Project The 132 KM Kharagpur-Adityapur Third Line Project was sanctioned in the year 2015-16 and the estimated cost is Rs.1,312 crores. This project covers 55 KM in the State of West Bengal and 77 KM in the State of Jharkhand. The Third Line work ofKalaikunda-Jhargram Section (30 KM) has already been completed. In the Budget 2021-22 an amount of Rs.225 crores has been allotted for this project. Rourkela-Jharsuguda Third Line Project The 101 KM long Rourkela-Jharsuguda Third Line Project was sanctioned in the year 2015-16 and the estimated cost is Rs.1,312.96 crores. The entire Third Line Project passes through the State of Odisha. Dhutra-Bamra Section (27.9 KM) has been commissioned in August 2020. Jharsuguda-Dhutra Section (8.8 KM) has been commissioned in December, 2020. In the Budget 2021-22 an amount of Rs.230 crores has been allotted for this project. *********** 2

दकà¥à¤·à¤¿à¤£à¤ªà¥‚रà¥à¤µ रेलवे SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY पà¥à¤°à¥‡à¤¸à¤µà¤¿à¤œà¥à¤žà¤ªà¥à¤¤à¤¿ PRESS RELEASE BUDGET 2021-22 LAYS THRUST on PASSENGER AMENITY WORKS OF SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY Kolkata, 11th February, 2021: One of the key areas of South Eastern Railway is provision of more amenities for the passengers and this railway has been taking major steps in this regard. As a part of station development work with a view to ensure comfortable and safe journey of the passengers, emphasis is being given on raising and extension of the platforms, development of circulating areas, provision of new foot over bridges etc. In the Budget of 2021-22, a sum of Rs.173.37 crore has been allotted for Passenger Amenity Works in SER which is 58% more than revised grant of 2020-21. With a view to ensure safety and to ease the movement of the commuters, New Foot Over Bridges have been completed at six stations over SER jurisdiction viz. Bowaichandi, Bishnupur, Talgoria, Bhowrah, Chakulia and Soro during this financial year (2020-21). Construction work of four more Foot Over Bridges is in progress and nearing completion. During the current financial year up to January 2021, Platform Raising works have been completed at 11 stations viz. Sardiha, Kalaikunda, Ranchi, Chakradharpur, Lakhannath Road, Panpali etc. under the jurisdiction of South Eastern Railway. The platform raising work is going on in full swing at four more stations of SER. Apart from above, Platform Surfacing work has also been completed at seven stations viz. Kharagpur, Jharsuguda, Soro etc. in SER jurisdiction and work at another five stations is in final stage. Moreover, Circulating Area Development work has been completed at Kharagpur Station, Platform Extension work has been completed at Lakhannath Road Station and Platform Shelter work has been done at Damodar and Muradih stations during this financial year. ........
