Chennai – Mysore- Chennai Shatabdi Express becomes the first IMS certified train of Southern Railway

A feather in the cap of Southern Railway, Chennai – Mysore – Chennai Shatabdi Express has received Integrated Management Systems Certification.  Train No. 12007/12008, Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mysore Jn – Dr MGR Chennai Central Shatabdi Express service is the first ever train service of Southern Railway to bag IMS Certification with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 Certifications.  The primary maintenance of the train is handled by Basin Bridge Coaching Depot of Chennai Division.  This certification has been granted by the certification agency after comprehensive audit and duly verifying adherence by Railways to all laid down norms.

The pair of Shatabdi service between Chennai-Mysore-Chennai was run as Train No.12007/12008 in the pre-COVID times and presently run as Special service with Train No.06081/06082 (except Wednesdays).

A brief function was held at Dr MGR Chennai Central today (27th October 2021 as the train has no service o­n Wednesdays) at Platform No.6 where Train No.12007/08 Shatabdi Express was stabled. Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway inspected the train service and felicitated the team of Officers and Staff of Basin Bridge Depot whose concerted efforts bagged the IMS Certification for the premier train service in the presence of Shri B.G.Mallya, Additional General Manager, Shri Gautam Dutta, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Shri Ganesh, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai and other senior officials of Chennai Division of Southern Railway and Basin Bridge Coaching Depot.

General Manager presented the IMS Certification to Coach Depot Officer/Basin Bridge Shri Alok Kumar Maurya and Divisional Electrical Engineer/Coaching Shri Surendran and Shri S.Mukundan, Sr Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Chennai Division of Southern Railway.  General Manager appreciated the concerted efforts of the team of officials from the Mechanical branch of Chennai Division and of Basin Bridge Coaching Depot in obtaining the IMS Certification. He presented awards and merit certifications to the Officers and staff for maintaining the train service well in accordance with the standards set forth for obtaining IMS certification.  He mentioned that the service is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities ensuring safe and comfortable travel for passengers.

Significant milestones achieved by Chennai-Mysore-Chennai Shatabdi Express

 Chennai – Mysore – Chennai Shatabdi Express train was introduced o­n 11th May 1994.

The service is the first ISO 9001:2001 certified train in Southern Railway (obtained in 19th June 2007)

The train was inducted with state-of-the-art LHB coaches o­n 1st July 2009

Running o­n HOG thereby reducing pollution and  prevention of resource depletion (Diesel)

Maintaining 100% passenger amenities in working condition, 100% HOG and 100 % Bio digester toilet operations and 100% functional sub-pantry equipment

Quality air conditioning, lighting and other electrical amenities.

I.CANCELLATION OF TRAINS

The following trains will be cancelled due to Line block for the work of insertion of Thick Web Switches at Nayandahalli yard as per detail mentioned below: -

1.Train No. 06560 Mysuru – KSR Bengaluru MEMU Special commencing journey from Mysuru o­n 02.11.2021 & 11.11.2021 will be cancelled.

2.    Train No. 06559 KSR Bengaluru – Mysuru MEMU Special commencing journey from KSR Bengaluru o­n 03.11.2021 & 12.11.2021 will be cancelled.

II.DIVERSION OF TRAINS

Due to Pre-Non- Interlocking and Non - Interlocking Work at Bhattanagar (Eastern Railway) and Baltikuri (South Eastern Railway) stations in connection with commissioning of double line from 23.10.2021 to 27.10.2021,the following trains will be diverted via Howrah-Andul-Kharagpur and vice versa as under with stoppage at Dankuni.


11.Train No. 02510 Guwahati - Bengaluru Cantonment Special Express commencing journey   from Guwahati o­n 24.10.2021, 25.10.2021 & 26.10.2021 will be diverted to run via Howrah,     Andul, Kharagpur with stoppage at Dankuni.

22.Train No. 05228 Muzaffarpur - Yesvantpur Special Express commencing journey from     Muzaffarpur o­n 25.10.2021 will be diverted to run via Howrah, Andul, Kharagpur with       stoppage at Dankuni.


33. Train No. 02254 Bhagalpur – Yesvantpur Special Express commencing journey from                Bhagalpur o­n 27.10.2021 will be diverted to run via Howrah, Andul, Kharagpur with                stoppage at Dankuni.


44. Train No. 02984 Agartala - Bengaluru Cantonment Special Express commencing journey        from Agartala o­n 26.10.2021 will be diverted to run via Howrah, Andul, Kharagpur with            stoppage at Dankuni.


55. Train No. 02249 KSR Bengaluru - New Tinsukia Special Express commencing journey            from  KSR Bengaluru on 26.10.2021 will be diverted to run viaKharagpur, Andul,                      Howrah  with stoppage at Dankuni.
