Railway Protection Force Personnel Apprehend Two Thieves


The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel apprehended a chain snatcher and a suitcase lifter at two different places o­n 21st May, 2015. The details of the cases are as under:-

1)An unknown person travelling in general compartment of Train No. 17213 Narsapur-Nagarsol Shirdi Express snatched gold chain from a co-passenger (Smt. K. Veeravani) after the train left Basara Railway Station and tried to get down from the running train.  The escorting staff K. Bikshapati, Head Constable, RPF and two constables of Kacheguda Post got down from the train and nabbed the chain snatcher with the help of passengers. The gold chain which was fallen down in the coach was secured and handed over to the owner. The offender was handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP) Nizamabad for further action.

2)In an another incident took place at Hyderabad Railway Station, the RPF & GRP joint team apprehends suitcase lifter at Booking Office/Hyderabad Rly.stn. Sri. V.Ramesh R/o Hydrabad lodged a complaint o­n 21st May, 2015 with GRP/Hyderabad stating that, at about 12.00 hrs, while he was at Booking Office/Hyderabad, an unknown person attempted to commit theft of his luggage, o­n noticing the same he started shouting.  Immediately, joint team of RPF & GRP entered into the scene and apprehended the offender along with the luggage bag. GRP/Hyderabad reregistered a case and are investigating.
