CHARKHA INSTALLED AT HUBBALLI RAILWAY STATION RUNNING OF FESTIVAL SPECIAL TRAINS It is decided to run following festival special trains in view of upcoming festivals Christmas, New Year & Pongal as detailed below:- 1.Train No. 06316/06315 Kochuveli – Mysuru – Kochuveli Daily Festival Special Express:- Train No. 06316 Kochuveli – Mysuru Festival Special Express will depart daily from Kochuveli at 16:45 hrs and arrive Mysuru at 11:20 hrs on the next day with effect commencing journey from Kochuveli from 11.12.2020 to 31.12.2020 (21 Trips). In the return direction Train No. 06315 Mysuru – Kochuveli Festival Special Express will depart daily from Mysuru at 12:50 hrs and arrive Kochuveli at 09:20 hrs on the next day with effect commencing journey from Mysuru from 12.12.2020 to 01.01.2021 (21 Trips). Enroute the train will have stoppages at Kollam, Kayankulam, Haripad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Chertala, Ernakulam Jn, Alua, Thrisur, Palghat, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Tirupattur, Kuppam, Bangarapet, Whitefield, Krishnarajapuram, Bengaluru Cantonment, KSR Bengaluru, Kengeri, Ramanagaram and Mandya in both directions. The train will have a composition of 23 coaches comprising of ONE 1stAC cum AC 2-tier Coach, THREE AC 2-tier Coaches, TWO AC 3-tier Coaches, THIRTEEN Second Class Sleeper Coaches, TWO General Second Class Coaches and TWO Luggage cum Brake-Vans. The fare of the above festival special trains will be 1.3 times of the fare. All the trains will run as fully reserved trains. All the norms of the State and Central Government regarding Covid-19 including social distancing, sanitization etc., may be followed in the trains and at the Railway stations. EXTENTION OF SERVICES OF FESTIVAL SPECIAL TRAINS The services of Train No. 07302/07301 Dharwad – Mysuru – Dharwad Daily Festival Express trains are extended further for a period from 11.12.2020 to 15.01.2021 from Dharwad and from 12.12.2020 to 16.01.2021 from Mysuru. There will be no change in timings, stoppages and composition of the trains. Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway and Patron, Southern Railway State Bharath Scouts and Guides (SRBSG) flagged off the FIT INDIA CYCLOTHON organised by the Southern Railway State Bharath Scouts and Guides in the presence of Shri B.G.Mallya, Addl General Manager, Southern Railway, Smt V.G.Bhooma, Senior Deputy General Manager, Southern Railway, and other officials. The cycle Rally from Chennai to Katpadi via Tiruvallur, Arakkonam and Sholinghur will cover a distance of 150 kms from 10th December to 12th December 2020 with 30 Rovers and Scout leaders participating in the event. The participants will create awareness through distribution of Pamphlets, Demonstration and teaching of Asanas Breathing Techniques & exercises. The Scouts Volunteers will also perform street play, mono acting and drama to promote the FIT INDIA Movement. All the participants of this cyclothon are wards of Railway employees. Speakng during the flagging off Programme, Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway complimented the organisers in taking up this very relevant and important initiative especially during the pandemic when the importance of Staying Fit is very important. He said that this cycle Rally would motivate and inspire others to join the FIT India Movement along the route it takes. Earlier, Shri B.G.Mallya Additional General Manager, and President, SRBSG, released the T-Shirt for the event for the Scouts and stressed on the importance of spending atleast 30 minutes on a fitness regimen. Smt M.Sunitha, Asst. Personnel Officer and Jt State Secretary welcomed the gathering and Smt G.Gayatri, Secretary to General Manager, Southern Railway gave the vote of thanks. Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India has planned a series of activities and campaigns during the month of December 2020 under the aegis of FIT INDIA Movement to promote fitness across the country. Envisioned by our Hon’ble Prime Minister as People’s Movement, the FIT INDIA Movement is yet another endeavour to involve citizens of the country to make India a fit nation. The Cycle Rally is part of the FIT INDIA movement which includes Thematic Campaign, fitness assessment through FIT INDIA App and FIT INDIA Cyclothon.
