Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister flags off 6th Vande Bharat Express between Nagpur and Bilaspur o­n 11.12.2022

Hon’ble Prime Minister also laid foundation stone for redevelopment of Nagpur and Ajni railway stations

Dedicated Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni for 12000 HP WAG-12 class freight locomotives, Kohli-Narkher section (49.74 km) of Nagpur-Itarsi third line project (by unveiling the e-plaque)

At the colourfully decorated Nagpur station, amidst the cheer of cross section of the public, Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister flagged off the 6th Vande Bharat Express between Nagpur and Bilaspur from Nagpur Railway Station, laid foundation stone for redevelopment of Nagpur and Ajni railway stations, dedicated Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni for 12000 HP WAG-12 freight locomotives, and Kohli-Narkher section (49.74 km) of Nagpur-Itarsi third line project at Nagpur o­n 11th December, 2022 by unveiling the e-plaques. 

Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra.  Shri Eknath Shinde, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Dr. Bharti Pawar, Hon'ble Union Minister of State for  Health and Family Welfare, Shri V.K Tripathi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board, Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway, Smt. Richa Khare, Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur Division, Central Railway and other dignitaries were present o­n the occasion.  *The Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi was presented with a painting by the dignitaries o­n the dais. The painting Is done by Shri Bijay Biswal, a retired railway employee from the same angle where the 6th Vande Bharat Expess was flagged off from Nagpur, the orange city.  It depicts a lady carrying oranges o­n the platform, acrylic o­n canvas 50x30 inches.*

Nagpur, the winter capital of the state of Maharashtra is connected to Raipur the capital of Chhatisgarh and Bilaspur, an important city of Chhatisgarh State by this Vande Bharat Express. Indian Railways are already running 5 Vande Bharat Express Trains. The Vande Bharat Express 2.0 offers a myriad of superior amenities providing passengers with aircraft like travelling experience & advanced state-of-the-art safety features including KAVACH technology. Executive Class coaches in Vande Bharat train has been provided with reclining seats with added feature of 180 degree rotating seats. Every coach is equipped with 32” screens providing Passenger Information and Infotainment. Divyang-friendly washrooms and seat handles with seat numbers in Braille letters have also been provided. Finer heat ventilation and air conditioning control through higher efficiency compressor, with Ultra Violet (UV) lamp for germ-free supply of air.  Vaccum toilets with touch free amenities, Better fire safety measures with Aerosol based fire detection and suppression system in all electrical cubicles and toilets.  The Vande Bharat train -which has been manufactured indigenously at Integral Coach Factory, Perambur, Chennai - is a testimony to the capability of Indian engineers and a culmination of the Make in India initiative. It is a big milestone towards realizing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister.

20825 Vande Bharat Express will leave Bilaspur at 06.45 hrs daily except Saturday from 12.12.2022 and arrive Nagpur at 12.15 hrs same day.  
20826 Vande Bharat Express will leave Nagpur at 14.05 hrs daily except Saturday from 12.12.2022 and arrive Bilaspur at 19.35 hrs same day.
The train will have AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car accommodation and will halt at Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Gondia stations between Nagpur and Bilaspur.

Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister laid foundation stone for Nagpur and Ajni railway station redevelopment projects (Cost Rs.589.22 croe and Rs.359.82 crore respectively) and dedicated Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni for 12000 HP WAG-12 class freight locomotives (Cost Rs.110 Crore) and Kohli-Narkher section of Nagpur-Itarsi Thrid line project (Cost Rs.453 crore) by unveiling plaques at Nagpur.
