दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे / SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY SWR HARNESSING SOLAR ENERGY ·SWR has installed a total of 4656.60 KWp Solar panels at Service buildings and major stations so far ·Solar Panels provided at 120 stations ·It is planned to install solar panels further at 26 stations in the current financial year ·The solar electricity generation during last financial year in SWR was 46.11 Lakh Units resulting in saving of Rs. 1.96 Crores ·70% of electricity requirement of SSS Hubballi station during the year 2021-22 was met through solar energy South Western Railway is one of the zones which has taken giant strides aimed at energy conservation. one of the significant actions taken in this direction has been the installation of solar panels at stations, service buildings, LC gates etc. across the zone. This will not only help in meeting power needs of all the stations but also save expenditure for the Railways. South Western Railway has installed a total of 4656.60 KWp Solar panels at Service buildings and major stations so far. The Zone has provided solar panels at 120 stations rooftop (covering all major stations – SSS Hubballi, KSR Bengaluru, Mysuru, Yesvantpur etc.) and 07 service buildings (Zonal Headquarters Rail Soudha, Divisional Railway Manager’s Office-Hubballi, Divisional Railway Manager’s Office-Bengaluru, Divisional Railway Manager’s Office - Mysuru, Railway Hospital-Hubballi, Parcel Office Bengaluru, Railway Hospital -Bengaluru). Both the Workshops in Zone (Hubballi Workshop-1045 KWp Capacity; Mysuru Workshop-500 KWp Capacity) and both the Sheds, Krishnarajapuram Diesel Shed (240 KWp), Hubballi EMD Shed (640 KWp) have also been provided with Solar Roof top plants. In addition, 295 Level Crossing gates are provided with Solar Panels. The solar electricity generation during last financial year in SWR was 46.11 Lakh Units resulting in saving in electricity bills to the tune of Rs. 1.96 Crores. It's estimated that nearly 70% of electricity requirement of SSS Hubballi station during the year 2021-22 (Total energy consumption- 4.8 Lakh Units) was met through solar energy. 83% of Energy requirement of Hubballi workshop (with second highest energy consumption in SWR of 13.51 Lakh Units) is being met from solar energy. 60% of Energy requirement of Hubballi EMD shed with 1.13 Lakh unit annual consumption is being met from Solar power. In the year 2021-22, 250 KWp Solar Panels installed at Rail Soudha have generated 2.75 Lakh Units of energy resulting in a saving of Rs.15.51 Lakh. 320 KWp Solar Panels installed at Hubballi Divisional Railway Manager’s Office has generated 84,294 Units of electricity in the last financial year resulting in a saving of Rs. 2.80 Lakh. The 80 KWp Solar panels at Bengaluru Divisional Railway Manager’s Office have generated 94,115 Units of energy during the last financial year resulting in a savings of Rs. 4.25 Lakh. From the 100 KWp Solar installation at Mysuru Divisional Railway Manager’s Office, 1.28 Lakh Units of energy have been generated during 2021-22 which has resulted in a saving of Rs.5.11 Lakh. In the same period, 1045kWp Solar Panels installed at Hubballi Workshop generated 11.21 Lakh units of Solar Energy which contributed Rs.47.28 Lakh as savings and 500kWp solar panels at Mysore Workshop generated 5.36 Lakh units of solar energy contributing Rs. 18.40 Lakh as savings. The generation of 6.77 Lakh units, 2.46 Lakh units and 1.80 Lakh units has been contributed by 640 kWp solar panels in Hubballi EMD shed, 240kWp solar panels in Krishnarajapuram Diesel Shed and 170kWp solar panels in IOH Shed respectively, in which, all three of them together contributed Rs. 52.04 Lakh of savings. During the 2021-22, financial year, Solar Panels at SSS Hubballi station has generated 3.38 Lakh Units of energy, 80 KWp Solar Panels at Yesvantpur Railway Station has generated 0.95 Lakh Units and 110 KWp Solar Panel at Mysuru Railway Station has generated 1.42 Lakh Units. These stations altogether generated savings of Rs. 21.42 Lakhs. Shri Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager/ SWR said that South Western Railway is planning to install solar panels further at 26 stations in the present financial year. Shri Kishore said that Railway is tapping this clean energy and same will accelerate the Railways’ mission of becoming a ‘Net Zero Carbon Emission Railway’ by 2030. दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे / SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY SWR TO RUN RRB EXAM SPECIAL TRAINS (ONE TRIP ONLY) South Western Railway has decided to run two pairs of a single trip RRB Exam Express Special train in view of RRB CBT-2 for recruitment of various NTPC category posts to be conducted on 09.05.2022 & 10.05.2022, one between SSS Hubballi to Aurangabad and another one between Mysuru to Ernakulam and back. The details of stoppages are as given below:- I. SSS HUBBALLI TO AURANGABAD (ONE TRIP onLY) Train No. 07385 SSS Hubballi - Aurangabad Exam Express Special will depart from SSS Hubballi on 07.05.2022 (Saturday) at 08:45 PM and arrive at Aurangabad at 06:00 PM of 08.05.2022. In the return direction, Train No. 07386 Aurangabad - SSS Hubballi Exam Express Special will depart from Aurangabad at 10:00 PM on 09.05.2022 (Monday) and arrive at SSS Hubballi at 07:00 PM of 10.05.2022. En-route the train will have stoppages at Dharwad, Londa, Belagavi, Ghatprabha, Miraj, Sangola, Pandharpur, Kurduvadi, Osmanabad, Latur, Latur Road, Parli Vaijnath, Parbhani Jn and Jalna stations in the both directions. Coach composition: one AC-3 tier Coach, Eight Second Class Sleeper Coaches, Three General Second Class coaches and Two Luggage cum Brake-Vans/Generator (Total 14 coaches). II. MYSURU TO ERNAKULAM (ONE TRIP onLY) Train No. 06293 Mysuru - Ernakulam Exam Express Special will depart from Mysuru on 08.05.2022 (Sunday) at 12:30 PM and arrive at Ernakulam at 05:00 AM of 09.05.2022. In the return direction, Train No 06294 Ernakulam - Mysuru Exam Express Special will depart from Ernakulam at 09:00 PM on 09.05.2022 (Monday) and arrive at Mysuru at 03:30 PM of 10.05.2022. En-route the train will have stoppages at Mandya, Kengeri, KSR Bengaluru, Bengaluru Cantonment, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva stations in the both directions. Coach composition: Fifteen General Second Class coaches and Two Second Class Luggage cum Brake-Vans/Disabled Coach (Total 17 coaches). Southern Railway will also decide to run Exam Express Special trains between Mangaluru Central to Belagavi and another one between Tirunelveli to Mysuru for the convenience of candidates to attend RRB NTPC Exam. on May 9 and 10, the details of stoppages are as given below:- III. MANGALURU CENTRAL TO BELAGAVI (ONE TRIP onLY) Train No. 06042 Mangaluru Central - Belagavi Exam Express Special will leave from Mangaluru Central on 07.05.2022 (Saturday) at 11:00 PM and reach at Belagavi at 03:00 AM of 09.05.2022. In the return direction, Train No 06041 Belagavi – Mangaluru central Exam Express Special will leave from Belagavi at 10:00 PM on 09.05.2022 (Monday) and arrive at Mangaluru Central at 10:50 PM of 10.05.2022. En-route the train will have stoppages at Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Banagarapet, Krishnarajapuram, Banaswadi, Tumakuru, Arsikere, Birur, Davangere, SSS Hubballi, Dharwad and Londa stations in the both direction. Coach composition: Two AC-2 tier Coaches, Two AC-3 tier coaches, Nine Second Class Sleeper Coaches, one General Second Class coach, one Second Class Chair car and Two Second Class Luggage cum Brake-Vans/Disabled Coach (Total 17 coaches). IV.TIRUNELVELI TO MYSURU (ONE TRIP onLY) Train No. 06039 Tirunelveli - Mysuru Exam Express Special will leave from Tirunelveli on 07.05.2022 (Saturday) at 10:10 PM and reach at Mysuru at 11:55 PM of 08.05.2022. In the return direction, Train No 06040 Mysuru - Tirunelveli Exam Express Special will leave from Mysuru at 08:15 PM on 10.05.2022 (Tuesday) and arrive at Tirunelveli at 09:30 PM of 11.05.2022. En-route the train will have stoppages at Nagercoil Town, Trivandrum, Kollam, Kanyakulam, Alapuzha, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Ottappalam, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and KSR Bengaluru stations in the both direction. Coach composition: Two AC-2 tier Coaches, Two AC-3 tier coaches, Nine Second Class Sleeper Coaches, one General Second Class coach, one Second Class Chair car and Two Second Class Luggage cum Brake-Vans/Disabled Coach (Total 17 coaches).
