43 WOMEN RAILWAY EMPLOYEES FOR THEIR EXEMPLARY SERVICE

Smt Tanuja Kansal - President of Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (WRWWO) felicitated 43 outstanding women employees through a webinar o­n 23rd April, 2021, with cash awards and merit certificates for their exemplary services. The webinar was attended by Executive Committee members and Divisional Presidents’ of WRWWO along with the awardees. In her speech, Smt Tanuja Kansal praised and encouraged all the awardees who have shown a great sense of dedication to their duties vis-a-vis shouldering their family responsibilities. These women were felicitated not o­nly for their dedicated service in the workplace, but also for their active participation in various activities that bring a difference in the society in o­ne way or the other.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Smt Tanuja Kansal - President of Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation appreciated the awardees in particular and women in general for their committed and adept handling of the two spheres of lives i.e home and job, without compromising o­n either fronts. Smt Kansal has always encouraged women to have an identity of their own. She has been instrumental in empowering women towards digitization by regularly interacting with them o­n digital platforms. She has conducted many webinars during the time of lockdown since 2020 o­n various subjects varying from their health, family life and work responsibilities etc. This was o­ne more initiative where she felicitated the women in an e-function, thus creating a space where women feel inspired to push themselves to further higher limits.

At the outset of her address in the webinar, Smt Kansal fostered a sense of optimism among the women. She said that the present scenario is quite bleak due to the Covid pandemic but it’s a temporary phase and the good times will surely come back, but we need to take care of ourselves during this period. She said that she was happy that women today have broken barriers and carved a niche for themselves. In line with this, she gave examples of great personalities like Ms P T Usha, Ms Sania Mirza and Ms Kiran Bedi. She also recited couplets o­n never giving up, and to keep trying, however difficult the task may be….victory will eventually come. She said that if o­ne wants to make a place for themselves in the society, they need to work hard and laurels will follow. Smt Kansal said that WRWWO has always encouraged and saluted such women employees who make a difference with their hard work, exemplary performance and dedication towards their work. She also spoke of the government’s initiative o­n ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao’. She said that girls should be encouraged to scale new heights, as it is she who is the guiding force of the family as she grows up. It is the mother who always guides and shapes her children, so she plays a very important role in society. Smt Kansal said that she was happy to interact with the women awardees and was happy that each o­ne has become an independent women and self-sufficient financially as well, which is in itself a great achievement.

In the webinar, the awardees were given three topics, from which they could pick o­ne and share their views. The topics were: - 1. Home and Office- Challenges, Achievements and Lessons Learnt. 2. Bestexamples of Women Empowerment in everyday life.3. Family responsibilities, office goals and women welfare-today’s women at crossroads. The awardees wholeheartedly participated in giving their views o­n the above topics, which was appreciated by Smt Kansal. Total 43 women were felicitated with cash prize of Rs 2000/- each and a Merit Certificate. 25 of the awardees were from various departments of Headquarter office, Churchgate, whereas 12 awardees were from various Divisions of WR and 6 awardees were from six Workshops of WR. The awardees were overwhelmed by the words of encouragement and appreciation received from Smt Kansal and thanked her for the same.

Weekly Special Trains between Mumbai and Gorakhpur

Central Railway  has decided to run weekly special trains between Mumbai and Gorakhpur, as per details given below:

01081 Weekly special will  leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus every Wednesday at 16.40 hrs with effect from 03.3.2021 until further advice and arrive Gorakhpur at 02.00 hrs o­n third day.

01082 Weekly special will leave Gorakhpur every Friday at 16.05 hrs with effect from 05.3.2021 until further advice and arrive Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 23.45 hrs next day.

Halts: Kalyan, Nasik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi (only for 01082), Pipariya, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Aunrihar, Mau, Bhatni and Deoria Sadar

Composition: One AC-2 Tier, Four AC-3 Tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 3 second class seating.

Reservation: Bookings for fully reserved special trains no 01081 on normal fare will open o­n 28.02.2021 at all computerised reservation centres and o­n website www.irctc.co.in.
