NEW ADDITIONAL GENERAL MANAGER FOR SOUTHERN RAILWAY

                                                                               


Shri Kaushal Kishore has taken over charge as Additional General Manager (AGM) of Southern Railway, today 15th March 2023, vice Shri Gautam Dutta, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, who was holding additional charge as AGM after the posting of Shri B.G.Mallya as General Manager, ICF in January 2023.


An Officer of 1986 batch of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Shri Kaushal Kishore graduated with B.Tech degree from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Nainital and completed M.Tech from IIT, Delhi.


In his more than 3 decades of Railway Service, he has worked in several important positions in Indian Railway, including in Metropolitan Projects, Mumbai, Nagpur and Bhusawal Division of Central Railway, as well as RDSO, Lucknow.

He has also been the Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Kota and the Divisional Railway Manager of Raipur, Nagpur and Bilaspur of South East Central Railway.

While working as Chief Bridge Engineer and Chief Project Director, Bridge works o­n South Western Railway, he was instrumental in replacing girders of important bridge o­n Tungabhadra river during Covid-19 period, terming the mass work as “No Lockdown for Bridge works”

Before joining as Additional General Manager, Southern Railway, he was working as Chief Administrative Officer, Construction, North Frontier Railway. During his stint as Chief Administrative Officer, Construction, North Frontier Railway, he has headed construction projects of Capital Connectivity of Meghalaya and Tripura doubling and new line and several important projects including commissioning of the doubling between New Bongaigaon and Bijni at maximum sectional speed of 110 kmph. He headed the international project of Agartala-Akhaura new BG line connecting India and Bangladesh and participated in project coordination meeting at Dhaka in 2021. The strategically important New Line project between Murkongselek and Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh got a fillip during his tenure.

Shri Kaushal Kishore has rich experience of 35 years in Indian Railway and has attended several training programs abroad in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Italy.

Indian Railways achieves a significant milestone with electrification of entire Broad Gauge Network in Uttar Pradesh

With this, Six Zonal Railways (ECoR, NCR, NER, ER, SER, WCR) stand fully electrified

Also, Highly Utilized Network (HUN-5), Jhansi-Muzzaffarpur-Katni is fully electrified

Indian Railways achieved a significant milestone yesterday in Railway electrification. With the completion of electrification of Subhagpur-Pachperwa Broad Gauge (BG) route in North Eastern Railway, Indian Railways has completed the electrification of all BG routes in Uttar Pradesh. This will improve rail connectivity in the region and will improve the speed of trains in the region.


Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has appreciated Indian Railways for accomplishing this remarkable feat.


With this achievement, Indian Railways has completed electrification of BG routes in six zonal railways namely, East Coast Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, West Central Railway. Also, Highly Utilized Network (HUN-5), Jhansi-Muzzaffarpur-Katni is fully electrified now. This will improve connectivity between Jhansi-Lucknow-Barabanki-Burhwal, Gonda-Anandnagar-Gorakhpur-Valmikinagar-Sugauli, Muzzaffarpur-Bachwara and Narkatiyaganj-Raxual-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga-Samastipur, Sitamarhi-Muzzaffarpur-Hazipur including Bhatni-Varanasi—Naini(Allahabad)-Manikpur-Satna-Katni and Chhapra-Varanasi.

With 85% of RKM electrified, Indian Railways is rapidly progressing to accomplish Mission100Percent Electrification and become the largest green railway network in the world.
