JAMALPUR WORKSHOP - HIGHEST EVER PERIODIC OVERHAULING RECORD ANNUAL OUTTURN OF 6544 WAGONS in 21-22

Kolkata, April 2, 2022

Jamalpur Workshop has successfully achieved ALL TIME BEST Annual Wagon Repair (POH) Outturn for 6544 wagons which also includes Periodic Overhauling (POH) of 1286 Hopper Wagons (1110 BOBR/N and 176 BOBYN). These wagons require substantially higher manhours compared to regular BOX type wagons. For maintaining the flow, overhauling of 12706 Casnub Bogies and 26295 Wheelsets in the year has been done, both being highest since the activity has started.

Jamalpur Workshop has marked massive increase of 29.8% Wagon Repair capacity, over previous year estimating the growth in earning approximately by ₹76.35 Crores. In the field of Wagon manufacturing, whopping 479 wagons have been manufactured in 2021-22 thereby registering a substantial growth of 9% over previous year. This has been HIGHEST over last five years.

The BEST EVER 15nos. 140T Cranes have been turned out in financial year 2021-22 (POH – 9; Manufacturing - 6). In the field of scrap management, 13257 MT of Ferrous scrap has been generated crossing the Annual target of 13000 MT, adding Rs 76.58 Crores from sale of scraps.
