North Central Railway Headquarter Public Relations Prayagraj No. 11PR/01/2021Press ReleaseDate: 16.01.2021 Detailed review of 160 Kmph speed raising works by GM NCR and NER Shri Vinay Kumar Tripathi General Manager also reviewed safety, punctuality, loading performance and mobility improvement works overNorth Central Railway General Manager NCR and NER Shri Vinay Kumar Tripathi hold a detailed review meeting to monitor progress of important work for 160 Kmph speed raising on New Delhi-Howrah and New Delhi-Mumbai trunk routes falling on NCR. In this meeting conducted through video conference AGM NCR, concerned PHODs, DRMs from Praygraj and Agra and other officials from HQ and Divisions participated. PHODs from Electrical, Engineering, S&T and Mechanical branches presented detailed planning ofwork for speed raising along with timeline for execution of different activities. Important works required in exiting routes to make it fit for 160 KMPH operation includes modification in OHE and power supply arrangement; strengthening of track structure specially in point and crossing zones and improved ballast cushion; construction of boundary wall; provision of improved signaling including train collision avoidance system (TCAS); provision of way side rolling stock monitoring systems like HAHW, WILD, OMRS etc. New Delhi- Howrah route between Ghaziabad-Pt. DeenDayalUpdhyay Jn. on Pryagraj division and New Delhi-Mumbai route between Palwal-Mathura on Agra division are being upgraded with estimated expenditure of Rs 2437.30 Crores and Rs. 393.51 Crores respectively. Besides adding speed and comfort to train journeys these works will also help in large scale employment generation in Uttar Pradesh with input of approximately Rs 2830 Crores over next 02 years. Reviewing progress of the work, GM Shri V K Tripathi stressed that each and every activity related to execution of this important work must be planned in detail and well documented. He also instructed for comprehensive and coordinated effort by all executing agencies for optimum utilization of traffic blocks for maximum work output with least effect on train operations. Shri Tripathi further directed officials to flagall issues requiring assistance from Railway Board, RDSO etc. so as this important work is completed within the specified target in FY 2022-23. Later General Manager also reviewed position of safety, punctuality, freight loading and mobility improvement works over North Central Railway. Shri Tripathi stressed that stipulated field inspections by HQ and Divisional officials must be conducted without any exception. GM also reviewed punctuality and freight loading performance of North Central Railway. He emphasized on proper analysis of each equipment failure case to sustain as well as to further improve upon punctuality performance of North Central Railway. Reviewing critical works related to mobility improvement, Shri Tripathi remarked that each important work be assigned specific milestones and progress of each milestone be monitored for timely completion of these critical infrastructure works. General Manager asked executing agencies to expedite works related to construction of longer loop lines, automatic signaling in Prayagraj-Kanpur section and works for speed raising in Chunar-Chopan section. 2

North Central Railway Headquarter Public Relations Prayagraj No. 11PR/05/2020Press ReleaseDate: 20.07.20 Infrastructure works for mobility improvement over North Central Railway Un-deterred by Covid-19 situation, these critical works are targeted for completion in FY 2020-21 Mobility of trains on North Central Railways plays most critical role in overall punctuality and average speed of trains from North to East, west and South. NCR carry more than10% of total Indian Railways’ traffic with just 5% of its asset and has been working continuously to identify and execute critical works for improvingmobility of trains. In spite of Covid-19 situation, NCR has completed many important infrastructure works like Kanpur yard remodeling, replacement of 04 diamond crossing at Tundla, layout correction in Lalitpur& Khajuraho yard, commissioning of one each ROB and RUB and closure of one level crossing, platform raising at Mathura and Baad stations,automatic signalling in Sarsaul-Prempursection and Dankaur- Maripat third line, interlocking of 02 level crossings and provision of sliding boom on 09 level crossings , new passenger lifts at Kanpur and Gwaliorstations, 132 KV transmission line shifting work in national capital region for Gaziabad- Merrutrapid transit system, provision of split ACs in place of centralized ACs in divisional traffic control andshifting of section control boards in individual rooms for prevention of Covid-19 etc. Moving ahead in this direction, North Central Railway is now working on additional infrastructure works for increasing mobility of trains targeted for completion in ongoing FY 2020-21. Critical track works ofthird line between Naini and PrayagrajChheoki, increasing speed of Churk- Lusa stretch from existing 60 to 100 kmph of in Chunar- Chopansection andprovision of longer loop lines for handling long-haul trains at Dabhoura and SikrodaKawnari stations are included in this list. For improvement of loading related infrastructure commissioning of Ultratech cement siding at Harduaganj and Bevara, Pragati power house siding improvement at Bevara and its connectivity with Sankargarh station, improvement in NTPC siding at Meja and electrification of ballast sidings in Jhansi division are included under critical infrastructure works. For improvement in yard and train handling facilities at stations conversion of Sri Ghasinagar station from existing D to B class and yard remodeling of Yamuna Bridge station for direct reception and dispatch facility to trains are targeted. Important signalling works for mobility improvement are replacement of mechanical signalling with Electronic Interlocking at loco B-cabin Kanpur and A and B cabins of Juhi, upgradation of signalling system at Ranipur Road, Mau Ranipur&Rora stations in Jhansi -Banda section, commissioning of intermediate block signal (IBS) in Govindpuri -Bhimsen section and commissioning of automatic signalling in third line between Dankaur- Khurja in Gaziabad- Aligarh section. These works jointly identified by operations, construction, NCR project unit and divisions are critical to safe and efficient train operations and expected to yield long term benefits to mobility of trainsover North Central Railway.
