North Central Railway Headquarter Public Relations Prayagraj No. 11PR/01/2021Press ReleaseDate: 14.01.2021 General Manager NCR & NER Shri Vinay Kumar Tripathi reviewed progress of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) Yamuna Bridge of DFC is targeted for commissioning by Sept-2021 Complete EDFC stretch falling on NCR from Dadri to Pt. DeenDayalUpadhyay Jn. shall be commissioned by June-2022. On 14.01.2021, General Manger NCR & NER Sri VinayKuamrTripathi reviewed progress of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor falling under North Central Railway territory through video conferencing with MD DFCCIL Shri R K Jain and other officials of DFCCIL, AGM NCR Shri RanjanYadav, PHODs of North Central Railway, DRM Prayagraj Shri Mohit Chandra and other officials of Prayagraj Division. At the outset PCE NCR Shri Shrad Mehta welcomed GM Shri Vinay Kumar Tripathi and other officers in this review meeting which was followed by opening address from Managing Director DFCCIL Shri R K Jain. Shri Jain thanked NCR for support in opening of 350Kms EDFC section between Bhaupur- Khurja inaugurated by Hon’ble PM Shri NarendraModi on 29.12.20. In this coordination meeting held between DFCCIL and North Central Railway various items related to expeditious completion of eastern dedicated freight corridor falling on NCR’s territory were discussed and finalized. Progress of important works related to ROBs, RUBs, OHE and signalling requiring joint efforts of DFCCIL and NCR were discussed in the meeting. Presentation on agenda items of the meeting was made by Shri Narendra Singh CBE NCR. Reviewing the progress, General Manager Shri Vinay Kumar Tripathi said that RUBs constructed should be free from water logging and proper and permanent solution for this be devised and implemented on priority. Shri Tripathi specifically reviewed progress of important Yamuna bridge being constructed by DFCCIL near Prayagraj. MD DFCCIL apprised that of 34 total spans of this important bridge 16 are already launched and bridge shall be commissioned by Sept-21. Shri Tripathi also advised DFCCIL and Railway officials to jointly identify targets and related issues for phasewise commissioning of EDFC route between KhurjaDadri and Bhaupur - Pt. DeenDayalUpadhyay Jn. He stressed that sections added in phased manner will help Railway to ease out existing route so that works related to speed raising on existing routes can be undertaken easily. GM Shri Tripathi assured DFCCIL that all required assistance in expeditious commissioning of this important infrastructure project shall be rendered by North Central Railway. MD DFCCIL Shri Jain said that with active support from North Central Railway DFCCIL is making all efforts to commission entire EDFC route falling on NCR from Dadri to Pt. DeenDayalUpadhyay Jn. well before the target of June-2022. DRM Prayagraj Shri Mohit Chandra said that with formal start of train operations between Bhaupur and Khurja it is important that standard and common operational procedures be followed for safe and efficient train operation on DFC network. 2

दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे/ SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY प्रेस विज्ञप्ति/ Press Release No. 340 Dt: 06.01.20201 Shramveer Awards Presented by SWR Post 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Mission was launched throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement based on Clarion call of Hon'ble PM. The campaign aims to realise the vision of a ‘Clean India’. “Swachch Bharat Mission” was pursued with vigour in SWR with Officers and staff rendering “Shramdaan”, 2 hours per week towards cleanliness. Various initiatives including biweekly Shramdaan, provision of Izzat Ghars, have been taken up for improving cleanliness in the Zone. The Railway employees take Swachch Bharat Pledge every year on 2nd Oct since 2014 wherein they commit that they will spend 100 hours in a year towards the cause of cleanliness. To fulfill this pledge, the concept of biweekly Shramdaan for two hours every week was introduced by Shri AK Singh, General Manager , South Western Railway, so that 100 hours in a year is contributed for the cause of cleanliness. Till Dec.2020, South Western Railway has done 200 Shramdaan sessions and SWR employees spent 200 hours each in cleaning in last two two years. This has brought significant improvement in the standard of cleanliness and has enhanced awareness towards Sanitization and hygiene in Railway employees. Results of same can be seen in Railway offices over the Zone Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager South Western Railway launched bi-weekly Shramdaan drive in Hubballi. Every week two days from 5-6 pm, at different locations in Railway premises including station, Officers, colonies etc., this Shramdaan drive is undertaken by Railway staff. Participants clean the location chosen and gather cleared garbage and vegetation and strange for proper disposal. Even JCBs are used to clean and dispose the garbage. By this drive many gardens and play grounds were created in Colonies. This is also serving a platform to interact with staff about the improvements that can be taken up to brighten Colonies. Even the landmark Railway Museum at Hubballi also was conceptualized in one such occasion. Shramdaan was finalised once the location was chosen for museum also. To encourage and motivate the officers and staff, South Western Railway has announced Shramveer awards .Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR has distributed cash awards to the staff who have been actively participating in the bi-weekly Shramadaan during the previous year 2020. The following employees were given Shramveer Awards. The awards consist of certificate and cash award of Rs.5000/- each. 1.Shri H T Prakash, ADEN/HQ 2.Shri Krishna Kumar Singh, Health Inspector 3.Shri P Ramesh, Health Inspector 4.Shri M Shree Rangaswamy, Sr.Section Engineer 5.Shri Abhik Sengupta, Sr.Section Engineer Shri P K Mishra, AGM/SWR, Shri P Ravi Kumar, PCME/SWR, Shri Vipul Kumar, PCE/SWR, Shri Ramanujam PCSO/SWR and Shri R V N Sharma, CRSE/SWR was present during distribution of the awards. Leading the Shramadaan movement for cleanliness on SWR from the front, Shri Ajay Kumar Singh/GM, exhorted officers and staff to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi Ji 's dream of a clean India.
