HON’BLE MP FLAGGED OFF NEW STOPPAGE FOR MAIL/EXPRESS TRAINS •INAUGURTED FOOT OVER BRIDGES & WAITING HALL OVER ASANSOL & HOWRAH DIVISION Kolkata, May 18, 2023 Indian Railways striving hard in its continuous endeavour for developing Railway facilities & amenities for the people of West Bengal. In that direction, Indian Railways provided additional stoppages of four mail/express trains running over Asansol & Howrah Division, inaugurated a new Foot Over Bridges (FOB) & a second class Waiting Hall at Panagarh station and also inaugurated a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at Waria station today (18.5.2023). Shri Surinderjeet Singh Ahluwalia, Hon’ble MP flagged off the inaugural stoppages of 13025/13026 Bhopal – Howrah Express from new stoppage at Barddhaman station in presence of Shri S. Mukherjee, ADRM/Operations/Howrah & Divisional officers of Howrah Division. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ahluwalia stated that, this new stoppage will offer more opportunities & direct access to bigger cities for the local populace. He also assured that one modern new AC Restaurant will be opened at Barddhaman Railway station for the benefit of the passengers as well as the local people. Later, Shri Ahluwalia flagged off inaugural stoppages of 22321/22322 Howrah – Siuri Hool Express at Mankar Station, 12383/12384 Sealdah – Asansol Intercity Express & 12333/12334 Howrah – Prayagraj Rambag Vibhuti Express at Panagarh station in presence of Shri Permanand Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager/Asansol & other senior officers of Asansol Division. The newly introduced stoppages of above trains at stations will immensely help the traders, farmers, artisans and common people as they get easy access to bigger markets which in turn boost the socio-economic development of West Bengal. Shri Ahluwalia also inaugurated the two newly built Foot Over Bridges - one at Panagarh and another at Waria station and one second-class Waiting Room at Panagarh today (18.5.2023) for the convenience of the passengers. With the inauguration of these Foot Over Bridges, it will be a great help for the daily commuters especially during peak hours. It will not only facilitate smooth dispersal of crowds during rush hour but also prevent commuters from trespassing the Railway tracks. The Second-Class Waiting Room at Panagarh station will provide more amenities, comfort & facilities to the bonafide passengers in and around Panagarh station. 2

RPF/ER PROVIDES ALL ROUND SECURITY TO THE PASSENGERS Kolkata, December 31, 2022: Railway Protection Force (RPF)/Eastern Railway continuing their endeavour to ensure security of passengers at railway premises with special emphasis to protective shield for women and children. On 27.12.2022, ‘under ‘Operation Nanhe Fariste’, officials of RPF Post/Kahalgaon rescued one minor boy who was moving aimlessly on PF No.01 of Kahalgaon Railway Station. He had fled away from home due to family discord. He was handed over to Child Line/Bhagalpur under due documentation for further disposal. On 26.12.2022, ‘under ‘Operation Mahila Suraksha’, officials of RPF/ER arrested 47 persons who were travelling in compartment reserved for Ladies. They were prosecuted under the provision of section 162 of Railway Act. On 26.12.2022, under ‘Operation Amanat’, officials of RPF Post/Sealdah retrieved a left behind bag containing one Samsung Tablet, valuable documents total valued Rs 30000/- from 12988 DN Sealdah SF Express at Sealdah Railway Station. Subsequently on 27.12.2022 the recovered bag with its containing items was handed over to its owner after proper verification & documentation. On 28.12.2022, under ‘Operation Amanat’, official of RPF post/Durgapur retrieved a left behind bag containing an I- Phone,and valuable belonging total valued Rs. 80,000 from Train No. 13021 UP Mithila express at Waria station and on 26. 12.2022 fficials of RPF Post/Kolkata station retrieved a left behind bag containing personal belongings, blanket etc. total valued Rs 13000/- from 13152 DN Kolkata Express at Kolkata Railway Station. Subsequently the recovered bag with its containing items were handed over to its owner after proper verification & documentation. |
