SER TO REGULATE TRAIN SERVICES DUE TO
NON- INTERLOCKING WORK AT TIKIAPARA
To commission the 4th line between Tikiapara and Santragachi stations of Kharagpur Division, South Eastern Railway will undertake 36 hrs. Traffic-cum-Power Block from 00.30 Hrs. of 18.1.2014(Saturday) to 12.30 hrs. of 19.1.2014(Sunday) for non-interlocking work at Tikiapara station. With the completion of this work, 4th line will be available for running trains for a distance of 4.8 kilometers between Tikiapara and Santragachi which will increase the flexibility in train operations in this extremely busy section.
As a result, a number of trains will be cancelled/short terminated/short-originated :-

Ø12828 Purulia-Howrah Express leaving Purulia on 18.1.2014 & 19.1.2014 will be short terminated at Santragachi instead of Howrah.Hence 12827 Howrah-Purulia Express scheduled to leave Howrah on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 will be short originated from Santragachi instead of Howrah.
Ø58012/58014 Chakradharpur/Bokaro Steel City – Howrah Passenger leaving Chakradharpur/Bokaro Steel City on 17.1.2014 & 18.1.2014 will be short terminated at Santragachi instead of Howrah.Hence 58011/58013 Howrah-Chakradharpur/Bokaro Steel City Passenger will be short originated on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 from Santragachi instead of Howrah.
Ø58001 Howrah-Puri Passenger scheduled to leave Howrah on 18.1.2014 & 19.01.2014 will be short originated from Santragachi instead of Howrah.
Ø58004 Bhadrak-Howrah Passenger leaving Bhadrak on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 will be short terminated at Santragachi instead of Howrah.Hence 58003 Howrah-Bhadrak Passenger scheduled to leave Howrah on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 will be short originated from Santragachi instead of Howrah.
Ø58016 Adra-Howrah Passenger scheduled to leave Adra on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 will be short terminated at Santragachi instead of Howrah.Hence, 58015 Howrah-Adra Passenger will be short originated from Santragachi on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 instead of Howrah.
Ø68002 Belda-Howrah MEMU Passenger leaving Belda on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14 will be short terminated at Kharagpur and will run as 68007 Howrah-Belda MEMU passenger from Kharagpur instead of Howrah on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14.Hence, the services of 68002/68007 will remain cancelled between Kharagpur-Howrah-Kharagpur on 18.1.14 & 19.1.14.

CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING, DIVERSION OF SOUTH BOUND TRAINS DUE TO OVERFLOWING OF WATER ON RAILWAY TRACKS IN EAST COAST RAILWAY
Kolkata, 26th October, 2013
Due to heavy rains and floods in coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, water is flowing over the tracks at several places between Khurda Road and Visakhapatnam Stations of East Coast Railway. Train running to South India through normal route from Howrah area via Bhubaneswar-Khurda Road-Visakhapatnam is suspended since the evening of 23.10.2013.All the South bound trains are being diverted via Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Nagpur route or via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Titlagarh route.Similarly, all the Howrah bound trains comingfrom South India(destinations such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Ernakulam, Yesvantpur, Kochuveli, Thiruvananthpuram etc.) are running via diverted route via Nagpur. Since the diverted route is much longer and already congested, these diverted trains are getting late.Consequently, SER is being forced to cancel some long distance Mail/Express trains

·22614 Haldia-Chennai Express has beenrescheduled to leave Haldia at 13.00 hrs instead of 11.30 hrs on 26.10.2013 and will run via Kharagpur-Tatanagar-Jharsuguda-Bilaspur-Nagpur-Ballarsha-Kazipet.

MEASURES ADOPTED BY SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY IN VIEW OF HEAVY RAIN FALL IN WEST BENGAL
Since there has been heavy rain fall all over West Bengal since 25.10.2013 night, safety measures in train running have been tightened.
·Emergency Controls havebeen opened in all the four Divisions viz., Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi.
·Special Patrol Teams are inspecting sensitive locations viz., bridges, cuttings etc. and are on the look out for rising water levels or any other issue involving train safety.
·Strict vigil is being kept by the Railway personnel at sensitive places wherethere are water bodies near theRailway Track and watch is being kept at rising water levels.
