दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे / SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY HUBBALLI – GUNTAKAL PASSENGER TRAIN RUNS WITH ELECTRIC LOCO In a measure towards Green Railway, SWR has converted SSS Hubballi – Guntakal –SSS Hubballi Passenger train to run with Electric Engine. Train No.07337/07338 SSS Hubballi – Guntakal- SSS Hubballi Daily Passenger has started running with electric locomotive with effect from 01.06.2022. Earlier, this train was running with Diesel Locomotive from end to end i.e., between SSS Hubballi and Guntakal. Running of this train with electric engine from end to end will save 2056 litres of Diesel, every day and every month 61,000 litres of Diesel will be saved. In South Western Railway in the Financial Year 2019-20 and 2020-21, 48 trains - 24 in each year, have been taken over/extended to run on Electric Engines. During the financial year 2021-22, 30 trains have been converted to electric traction to run with electric engines. From December 2021, in Hubballi Division, 3 pairs of trains i.e., T. No. 16592/16591 Mysuru- SSS Hubballi- Mysuru Hampi Express, T. No. 17225/17226 Vijayawada-SSS Hubballi- Vijayawada Amaravathi Express and T. No. 17313/17314 SSS Hubballi – Dr. MGR Chennai Central- SSS Hubballi Express have been converted to run with electric engine from end to end, while T.No.17415/17416 Tirupati-Kolhapur- Tirupati Haripriya Express is made to run with Electric loco between Guntakal and SSS Hubballi. Besides new train No. 17329/17330 SSS Hubballi- Vijayawada-SSS Hubballi Express is also running with electric locomotive. Shri Sanjeev Kishore, General Manager, South Western Railway has told that SWR is actively working to switch more number of trains to Electric traction gradually in the coming year, with specific focus on sections where Electrification has already been completed. This was made possible with the record Electrification done by SWR. During the financial year 2021-22, SWR has completed 511.7 RKM of Electrification. E.
