: New Time Table for trains of Indian Railways is going to be affective from 1st July, 2019. While 16 passenger carrying trains have been speeded up over NFR, arrival/departure timings of 67 trains have been changed at various stations. The trains whose journey times have been reduced between 5 minutes to 30 minutes includes important trains like 15909 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Awadh Assam Exp, 12504 Agartala – Bangalore Cantt. Humsafar Exp, 13174 Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjunga Exp, 15626 Agartala – Deoghar Exp, 15630 Silghat Town – Tambaram Nagaon Exp, 15418 Silghat Town – Alipurduar Jn Rajya Rani Exp, 13245 New Jalpaiguri – Rejendranagar Capital Exp, 13034 Katihar - Howrah Exp, 15631 Barmar – Guwahati Exp. etc. Arrival / Departure timings at Guwahati have been changed for trains like 22502 New Tinsukia - Bengaluru Exp, 20503 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Exp, 20505 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Exp, 12423 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Exp, 20501 Agartala – Anand Vihar Rajdhani Exp,15960 Dibrugarh – Howrah Kamrup Exp, 14055 Dibrugarh –Delhi Brahmaputra Mail, 15903 Dibrugarh – Chandigarh Exp,15933 Dibrugarh – Amritsar Exp,15909 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Awadh Assam Exp, 13174 Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjunga Exp etc. Departure timings of 12346 Guwahati – Howrah Saraighat Exp has been changed at Guwahati. The departure timings from New Jalpaiguri of 13245 New Jalpaiguri – Rejendranagar Capital Exp & 15722 New Jalpaiguri – Digha Paharia Exp has been changed. The departure time from Alipurduar Jn of 13150 Alipurduar – Sealdah Kanchan Kanya Express has also been changed. The departure time of 13034 Katihar – Howrah Express from Katihar has also been changed. The departure timings of various DEMU passenger trains have also changed at stations like Katihar, Siliguri, Radhikapur etc. It is expected that the new timings will help in better train operation throughout NFR. Rajya Rani Express running between Alipurduar Jn and Silghat became the first Intercity express train of North East Frontier Railway to be fully provided with modified features and amenities under “Project Utkrishtâ€. The upgraded train number 15417 / 15418 Rajya Rani Express which runs in Alipurduar Jn – Dhubri – Silghat route covers the total distance of 558.42 kms in 17 hours and has 29 stoppages during its journey. The upgraded train was flagged off by Shri Sadhan Routh a Grade –IV employee who will be retiring on 28th February in presence of Divisional Railway Manager of Alipurduar Division Shri Chandra Vir Raman and other senior officials from Alipurduar on 9th February. It is to be mentioned here that 10 rakes of N.F. Railway mainly comprising mail express trains have been selected to be upgraded by adding more passenger friendly items under a project named “Utkrisht. Throughout Indian Railway in the first phase 140 rakes will be upgraded. This upgrade includes giving a noticeable facelift of both interior and exterior of the entire train rake. Under Project Utkrisht, all coaches of the revamped rakes have been fitted with ‘Swachh Rail Toilet’, which not only reduces water consumption while flushing, but also ensures that the stench is minimal. The new toilets have various advantages like – no choking, quick discharge to bio toilet tank, complete sealing of odour, garbage bags in toilet etc. All AC coaches are also be provided with the new features like LED panel lighting, new types of bottle holders, braille signage, night glow stickers, new types of fire extinguishers, LED panel photo frame in first AC coaches, big size mirrors, anti-graffiti vinyl wrapping in the gangway area, toilets with exhaust fans, health faucets, auto janitors, Odonil containers, large size mirror, auto janitor system to control bad odour etc. All coaches are fitted with energy-efficient LED lights – in the main interior, doorway, gangway and inside toilets. The upgradation of such facilities slightly differs in sleeper class coaches and unreserved coaches. Trains being maintained under OBHS (Online House Keeping System), cleaning of toilets are done every two hours and GPS tagged biometric attendance system are provided. Suitable good quality posters are framed highlighting cultures of North Eastern Region to improve the aesthetics inside coaches. one single unified information poster comprising phone numbers guide lines etc for complaints/fire Safety/Assistance from on-Board staff have been fitted in doorway area.
