Shri P. Mahesh assumes charge as Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer of Southern Railway


                          


 Shri. P. Mahesh, IRSME has taken over charge as the new Senior Deputy General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer of Southern Railway today, 06th October, 2021. Prior to this, he held the postof Divisional Railway Manager of Chennai Division.

An officer belonging to Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), Shri P. Mahesh has vast experience in different facets of Railway working.  He had served Southern Railway, North Frontier Railway and Integral Coach Factory in various capacities earlier. 

Shri P. Mahesh has the unique distinction of having held the post of Chief Workshop Manager in three prestigious workshops of Indian Railways, namely, Golden Rock Workshop, Carriage& Wagon Workshops at Perambur and New Bongaigon (Assam).  Besides, he had also worked as Consultant with RITES while o­n deputation at Sri Lanka.

“SwarachitKavita Path Competition” organized in North Central Railway

An o­nline "SwarchitKavita Path Competition" was organized o­n the occasion of RajbhashaPakhwada being organized at the headquarters of North Central Railway. In the event, the employees working in different departments of divisions and workshops, including the headquarter office, participated with great enthusiasm. Participants gave impressive performances of poems, ghazals, Muktak etc. o­n various subjects. Addressing the participants in this competition, Chief Rajbhasha Officer and Principal Financial Advisor Shri AjaiMathur said that the themes of poetry chose by the participants like national, cultural, contemporary and social concerns show the correct path to the individual and the society. He appreciated the poetic talent and creativity of the railway staff and said that their works are not o­nly the hallmark of an alert and intelligent railway worker but also a conscious citizen and a nation’s watchdog.

The Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Shri M.N. Ojha said that poetry motivates and awakens us. Poetry is no longer matter of amusement but a matter of social consciousness as well. The judge of the competition, Chief Claims Officer, Shri Shailendra Kapil appreciated the poetry, ghazals and muktaks presented by the railway poets o­n various subjects. He said that the success of poetry depends o­n the fact that contemporary meanings and themes are exposed in the mind of the listener through traditional poetic components like Rasa, Chhand, Alankar, Vimb, etc. In the competition, Mr. Niyaz, Senior Technician, Jhansi workshop got first place, Shri P.K. Ojha, Inspector/Rail Protection Force, Kanpur got second position and Shri Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Station Superintendent, Subedarganj got third position.

The members of the Judging team appreciated the traditional and contemporary narrative themes chosen by the participants for poetry recitation. The competition was conducted by RajbhashaAdhikariSh.Yatharth Pandey and vote of thanks was given by Sh. Chandra Bhushan Pandey, Senior Rajbhasha Officer. General Manager Shri Pramod Kumar will confer the award to all the above mentioned employees in the main function of RajbhashaPakhwada to be held o­n 29th September.
