ER’s RPF RECOVERED HUGE AMOUNT OF LIQUID CASH, GOLD & SILVER FROM A PERSON AT SEALDAH STATION Kolkata, April 2, 2021: Acting on a tip off, RPF officials of Eastern Railway conducted a surprise check on the passengers of 53176 Down Lalgola Passenger after arrival of the train at PF No 8 of Sealdah station on 1.4.2021 and recovered liquid cash of Rs. 2,31,200/-, 56.13 gms of Gold and 3405.5 gms of Silver form a passenger. While the RPF intelligence team conducting such checking they noticed one person was getting down from the train in suspicious manner and trying to leave the station. On suspicion RPF personnel asked him to stop when he tried to escape. Further, being asked about the luggage he was carrying the person felt uncomfortable when suspicion became strong and it was felt necessary to be searched . Accordingly search was conducted in presence of witnesses when liquid cash amounting to Rs. 2,31,200/-, Gold weighing 56.130 gms and Silver weighing 3405.500 gms were found from his possession for which he failed to produce any documents or to give any satisfactory reply for carrying of cash, gold and silver. Afterwards, the person was handed over to GRP for further investigation. 2

GM/ER’S ANNUAL INSPECTION IN LALGOLA – KRISHNANAGAR SECTION HELD TODAY Kolkata, March 24, 2020: Shri Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Eastern Railway held annual inspection in the Lalgola – Krishnanagar section of Sealdah Division today (24.3.2021). Shri Joshi inspected different station premises, took stock of safety, security, fire-fighting arrangements, passenger amenity works there, interacted with the passenger associations, received representations from them regarding enhancement of frequency of Kolkata bound passenger trains, inspected Railway track, conducted speed trial, inspected Railway colonies, spoke with the inhabitants of the Railway colonies and gave a patient hearing to their problems & suggestions. At Lalgola station, Shri Joshi inspected the passenger amenity items, panel cabin, ticket counter and circulating area. At Krishnapur station, Shri Joshi inspected electric Panel Cabin, Accident Relied Medical Equipment room (ARME) and also inspected renovated station building as damaged recently. He inaugurated the state of the art newly built Krishnapur Running Room and Health Unit. Shri Joshi inspected level crossing gate between Krishnapur and Subarnamrigi stations, interacted with the gangmen and also took stock of newly introduced GPS tracking device for patrolmen and keymen, which is meant to monitor movement of trackmen and thereby improving patrolling quality. He inspected minor bridge No. 83/A between Krishnapur and Subarnamrigi stations. At Murshidabad, he inspected Panel Cabin, Relay Room, Retiring Room, Dormitory, Ladies Waiting Hall, Park at circulating area and planted saplings. He also inspected level crossing gate No. 140/T. At Cossimbazar station, Shri Joshi inspected Overhead Equipment Depot. At Berhampore, Shri Joshi inspected station complex and Railway colony. At Plassey, Shri Joshi inspected station premises, Waiting Room, Electronic Interlocking Panel Room and conducted speed trial between Plassey and Bahadurpur. Shri Joshi inspected major bridge No. 17A on Jalangi river between Bahadurpur and Krishnanagar stations. Everywhere, Shri Joshi interacted with the field workers and communicated necessary instructions to them for further improvement of their performance particularly in fields of safety, security and fire fighting aspects. Principal Heads of Departments from Headquarters and Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Sealdah with other Senior Divisional Officers were present during GM’s annual inspection in Lalgola – Krishnanagar section of ER’s Sealdah Division.
