Press Release: EASTERN RAILWAY TO RUN TWO SUMMER SPECIAL TRAINS FOR NEW JALPAIGURI

EASTERN RAILWAY TO RUN TWO SUMMER SPECIAL TRAINS FOR NEW JALPAIGURI

Kolkata, April 12, 2023:

For the convenience of the passengers and to clear the extra rush during summer season, Eastern Railway has decided to run two (2) Summer Special Trains between Howrah & New Jalpaiguri and Sealdah & New Jalpaiguri.

03027 Howrah â€“ New Jalpaiguri Summer Special will leave Howrah at 23:40 hrs on every Wednesday between 19.04.2023 & 28.06.2023 (11 trips) to reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hrs on the next day. 03028 New Jalpaiguri â€“ Howrah Summer Special will leave New Jalpaiguri at 12:15 hrs on every Thursday between 20.04.2023 & 29.06.2023 (11 trips) to reach Howrah at 23:30 hrs on the same day. The train will stop at Bandel, Katwa, Azimganj, Jangipur Road, Malda Town, Barsoi, Kishanganj & Aluabari Road stations in both directions enroute. The train will have General Second Class, Sleeper Class and Air-conditioned accommodation.

03103 Sealdah â€“ New Jalpaiguri Summer Special will leave Sealdah at 23:40 hrs on every Saturday between 15.04.2023 & 24.06.2023 (11 trips) to reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 hrs on the next day. 03104 New Jalpaiguri â€“ Sealdah Summer Special will leave New Jalpaiguri at 12:15 hrs on every Sunday between 16.04.2023 & 25.06.2023 (11 trips) to reach Sealdah at 23:50 hrs on the same day. The train will stop at Naihati, Bandel, Katwa, Azimganj, Jangipur Road, Malda Town, Barsoi, Kishanganj & Aluabari Road stations in both directions enroute. The train will have Air-conditioned accommodation.

The booking of Howrah â€“ New Jalpaiguri Summer Special (03027), Sealdah â€“ New Jalpaiguri Summer Special (03103) & Malda Town â€“ Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Summer Special (01032) will be available on and from 13.04.2023 through PRS & internet. In addition to Mail/Express fare, special charge will be realised. Concessional booking is not allowed. Tatkal quota is not available.

Press Release:CRS INSPECTION ON NEWLY COMPLETED DOWN LINE BETWEEN JANGIPUR & AHIRAN STATIONS OF MALDA DIVISION

Kolkata, March 2, 2023

For socio-economic development as well as for providing better connectivity to every nook and corner of the country, Indian Railways is extending infrastructural development by constructing new Railway lines etc. In a big stride towards achieving more & more connectivity, Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS)/Eastern Circle inspected the newly constructed Broad Gauge DN line from Jangipur station to Ahiran station (6.33 KM) on 2.3.2023 for opening up the route for public carriage of goods and passenger traffic.

CAO(Con)/ER, Divisional Railway Manager/Malda along with other Senior officers of Eastern Railway Headquarters & Malda Division accompanied during the inspection. The inspection started with Jangipur station, panel room & interlocking system.

As a part of the inspection, Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS)/Eastern Circle conducted motor trolley inspection in between Jangipur to Ahiran station on the new down line wherein, minor bridges & a major bridge, Railway Track fittings, P-way assets and level crossing gates were inspected.

After the inspection, Speed Trial was also conducted in the new DN line from Ahiran to Jangipur Station. During the run, maximum speed of 100 kmph was attained and successfully completed.
