Kolkata, April 7, 2023 Under Operation Yatri Suraksha, acting on a tip-off, RPF officials of Howrah Division were conducted surveillance in Howrah Railway Station (Old Complex) while looking out for miscreants who used to steal Passenger belongings in & around Howrah Railway Station. In this connection, RPF/Howrah apprehended four criminals on April 4,2023 & prosecuted under various sections of Railway Act. On the same day, Under Operation Upalabdh, RPF officials of Howrah Division conducted a raid-cum search on a shop, situated at Hooghly and arrested the owner of the shop. on search, RPF/Howrah recovered 18 no. of Railway e-tickets (15 present & 3 old journey tickets) valued ₹45,724/-. In spite of being an IRCTC agent, he was using 09 personal user IDs to run the illegal business of selling Railway e-tickets. In this regard, RPF/Post/Chandanpur registered a case under Railway Act and enquiry has been started against the accused. |
