South Central Railway has advised Diversion of trains for decongesting Gooty Station as detailed below:

·Train No.01013 Lokmanya Tilak – Coimbatore Special will be diverted via Guntakal, Gulapalayam and Kallaru with effect from 19th November,  2021 and will not touch Gooty

·Train No. 01014 Coimbatore - Lokmanya Tilak Terminal Special will be diverted via Kalluru, Gulapalayam and Guntakal with effect from 21st  November,  2021 and will not touch Gooty

Focus on Safety of Train Operations In View of Heavy Rains - Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR



Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting o­n safety, freight loading and punctuality of the Zone today i.e., 06th September, 2021 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference.

The General Manager focused o­n the safety aspects of train operations in view of the heavy rains. He emphasized o­n adhering to safety protocols to be observed during the heavy rains and flood situation. He informed the concerned officials to ensure regular inspections, cleaning and maintenance of side water drains, catch water drains and waterways to avoid incidents such as flooding of tracks.

The General Manager also held a detailed review of the progress of o­n-going new line, doubling, tripling, yard re-modeling and infrastructural works over the zone. He instructed the officials to expedite the track works and ensure completion of projects o­n time. He also advised the concerned officials to minimize the speed restrictions wherever feasible to avert loss of punctuality.

Further, the General Manager advised the officials to focus o­n strengthening medical equipment at health units in order to provide better health care facilities to the patients. He also instructed the officials to improve facilities at goods sheds. The General Manager reviewed the status of safety drives being conducted over the zone and reiterated strict adherence to the guidelines and safety measures.

The General Manager reviewed the freight loading performance of the zone. He complimented the officials for excellent growth in freight loading during August 2021 which is 51% higher compared with loading of August 2020. The business developmental units (BDUs) of all six divisions gave a brief o­n the new streams of traffic/commodities which were realized in the month of August, 2021. The General Manager advised the officials to continue their efforts in adding new streams of traffic to further improve the freight loading performance of the zone.
