SER CELEBRATES “HAR GHAR TIRANGA” FROM 13th TO 15th AUGUST

TO COMMEMORATE 75 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

SER TO OBSERVE “PARTITION HORRORS REMEMBRANCE DAY” o­n 14th AUGUST

Kolkata, 12^th August, 2022:

South Eastern Railway along with other zones of Indian Railways is celebrating the 75 years of Indian Independence in a befitting manner. SER will celebrate the event, “Har Ghar Tiranga” under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to encourage the citizens to hoist the National Flag at their residential premises from 13^th to 15^thAugust, 2022. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about our National Flag.

To commemorate the occasion, National Flags have been distributed to the employees for hoisting the flag at their residential buildings.

During the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, SER will also observe “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” o­n 14^th August, 2022 to highlight the tragedy of the partition and the agony of the people who suffered during the partition. In this connection, Photo Exhibitions will be organised at different stations of South Eastern Railway. The Photo Exhibitions will be organised at Adra, Bokaro, Bankura and Burnpur stations of Adra Division, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Sini and Tatanagar stations of Chakradharpur Division, Hatia, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Bano, Pokla and Govindpur stations of Ranchi Division, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhogpur, Shalimar, Tamluk, Digha and Ghatsila stations of Kharagpur Division.

Different programmes will also be organised at the stations o­n this day involving the Freedom Fighters, their family members and the persons who have suffered the tragedy of partition. Patriotic songs will be played during the celebration and Selfie Points have been put up at different stations for public and passengers to celebrate the event, “HarGhar Tiranga”.

SEVERAL TRAINS OF WESTERN RAILWAY AFFECTED DUE TO KISAN AGITATION

Due to Kisan agitation in Firozpur Division of Northern Railway, few trains have been cancelled & certain trains have been short terminated and accordingly short originated.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the details of the affected trains of WR are as under:

2)Train No. 19108 Udhampur - Bhavnagar Terminus Express, journey commencing o­n 20.12.2021

SHORT – TERMINATION/ SHORT - ORIGINATION OF TRAINS:

1)Train No. 12919 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express, journey commenced o­n 19.12.2021 short terminated at Jalandhar Cantt.

2)Train No. 19224 Jammu Tawi - Ahmedabad Express, journey commenced o­n 20.12.2021 short terminated at Mukerian.

3)Train No. 12920 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Malwa Express, journey commenced o­n 20.12.2021 short terminated at Pathankot Cantt.

4)Train No. 12476 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Hapa Express, journey commenced o­n 20.12.2021 short terminated at Bhogpur Sirwal.

9)Train No. 12926 Amritsar - Bandra Terminus Paschim Express, journey commencing o­n 21.12.2021 will short originate from Chandigarh.

10)Train No. 19224 Jammu Tawi - Ahmedabad Express, journey commencing o­n 21.12.2021 will short originate from Bhatinda Jn.

11)Train No. 19415 Ahmedabad – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express, journey commenced o­n 19.12.2021 short terminated at Bhatinda Jn.

12)Train No. 19416 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Ahmedabad Express, journey commencing o­n 21.12.2021 will short originate from Bhatinda Jn.
