KOTTAVALASA-KORAPUT-KIRANDUL (KK) LINEDOUBLING PROJECT:

●Construction for 58% of total stretch completed.

●Shrungavarapukota & Boddavara Section, a distance of 7.3 KMs with 1 in 60 Steep Gradient in the Eastern Ghat commissioned.

●259.5 Kms crucial Doubling Work of the project completed out of 445.5 Kms long important Iron Ore Route.

The construction work for crucial Doubling work of Kottavalasa-Koraput-Kirandul (KK) line under Waltair Division of East Coast Railway is going o­n full swing. More than 58/% of construction works of this project have been completed, till now.
 
A patch of 7.3Kms between Shrungavarapukota & Boddavara Stations has been completed and commissioned yesterday for both Goods and Passenger Traffic.
 
This has been possible due to consistent review of project works by Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji. General Manager Shri Manoj Sharma advised concerned officials to focus for the speedy completion of various project works for the critical projects. Shri Sharma also advised officials to coordinate with stake holders including State Government officials for early completion of the projects.     
 
Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw is giving priority for the Development of Railway infrastructure of the remote Tribal region along with various project works going in the remote Tribal Region of Northern AP, Odisha & Chhattisgarh and also is monitoring the developmental works regularly. Doubling Work in KK line will boost to the economy of the region and will provide a hassle free train operations in the crucial Eastern Ghat region.  
 
Doubling Work in KK Line (445.5 Kms) project was included in 2011-12 and the final Sanction was given in2015-16. Works between Shrungavarapukota & Boddavara Stations, a stretch of 7.3KMs was completed and commissioned yesterday with 1 in 60 Steep gradient in the Eastern Ghats. This is a crucial tough Block Section in the important iron ore route. With this, a total of 259.5 Kms doubling work of KK Line is commissioned so far in phased manner which is 58% of total length of the project. Two more Block Sections in either side of Araku have been targeted to be completed in next two months.

Fixed Time Corridor Block has been approved for facilitating the regirdering of Bridge No.124 located between Mavelikara - Chengannur Railway stations in Thiruvananthapuram Division. Consequently, the following changes have been made in the pattern of train services as detailed below:

Full Cancellation of Train Services:

1.Train No. 06768 Kollam – Ernakulam Unreserved MEMU Special Express  leaving Kollam at 08.00 hrs on 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled 

2.Train No. 06778 Kollam – Ernakulam Unreserved MEMU Express Special leaving Kollam at 11.00 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled 

3.Train No. 06441 Ernakulam – Kollam MEMU Express Special leaving Ernakulam at 20.10 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled 

4.Train No. 16310 Kayankulam – Ernakulam MEMU Express leaving Kayankulam at 15.00 hrs on 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled 

5.Train No. 16309 Ernakulam Jn – Kayankulam MEMU Express leaving Ernakulam at 08.45 hrs on 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled 

6.Train No. 06786 Kollam – Kottayam Special leaving Kollam at 14.35 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled

7.Train No. 06769 Ernakulam – Kollam MEMU Special leaving Ernakulam at 13.35 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled

8.Train No. 06785 Kottayam – Kollam MEMU Special leaving Kottayam at 17.40 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled

9.Train No. 06450 Kayankulam – Ernakulam Express Special leaving Kayankulam at 08.50 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled

10.Train No. 06015 Ernakulam – Alappuzha MEMU Express Special leaving Ernakulam at 16.00 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled

11.Train No. 06452 Alappuzha – Ernakulam Express Special leaving Alappuzha at 18.00 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be fully cancelled

Partial Cancellation of Train Service:

1.Train No. 16366 Nagercoil – Kottayam Express leaving Nagercoil at 13.00 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be partially cancelled between Kollam and Kottayam. The train will be short terminated at Kollam

Diversion of Train Services:

1.Train No. 17229 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Secunderabad Sabari Express   leaving Thiruvananthapuram Central at 06.45 o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri and Kottayam. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

2.Train No. 12625 Thiruvananthapuram Central - New Delhi Kerala Superfast Express   leaving Thiruvananthapuram Central at 12.30 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri, Kottayam and Vaikom Road. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

3.Train No. 16525 Kanniyakumari – KSR Bengaluru Express  leaving Kanniyakumari  at 10.10 hrs o­n 21^st  May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri ,Kottayam, Piravom Road and Tripunithura. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

4. Train No.12082 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Kannur Janshatabdi Express leaving Thiruvananthapuram Central at 14.50 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Chengannur, Tiruvalla and Kottayam. Additional stoppages will be provided at Alappuzha and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

5.Train No. 12624 Thiruvananthapuram Central - Dr MGR Chennai Central Mail leaving Thiruvananthapuram Central at 15.00 hrs o­n 21st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri, Kottayam and Tripunithura. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

6.Train No. 12659 Nagercoil – Shalimar Weekly Express leaving Nagercoil at 14.45 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Chengannur, Tiruvalla and Kottayam. Additional stoppages will be provided at Alappuzha and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

7.Train No. 12696 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express  leaving  Thiruvananthapuram Central at 17.15 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppage at Mavelikara , Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri and Kottayam. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers

8.Train No. 16304 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Ernakulam Vanchinad Express leaving Thiruvananthapuram Central at 17.45 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppages at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri, Kottayam, Piravom Road and Tripunittura. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha and Cherthala for the convenience of passengers

9.Train No. 16327 Punalur – Guruvayur Express leaving Punalur at 18.25 hrs o­n 21^st May, 2023 will be diverted to run via Alappuzha skipping stoppages at Mavelikara, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanasseri, Kottayam, Ettumanur, Kuruppantara, Vaikom Road, Piravam Road, Mulanturutti and Tripunittura. Additional stoppages will be provided at Harippad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala and Ernakulam for the convenience of passengers
