CR conducts massive ticket checking drives, saves revenue loss of Rs.71.25 crores from April to September-2021 and detects 12.47 lakh cases of irregular travel.

CR detects & penalizes 25.6 K persons for not following Covid19 appropriate behavior

Central Railway, in following the Covid-19 protocol as per the Government’s directives and sensitizing the passengers to take all precautions while travelling, has been very prompt and tactful in penalizing the errand passenger.

During the period 01.4.2021 to 30.9.2021, a total of 12.47 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travellers were detected in suburban & non-suburban trains (long distance trains) trains and an amount of Rs.71.25 crores was realized as penalty. This is highest in terms of revenue among all Zonal Railways.

During the period 17.4.2021 to 30.9.2021, special teams of ticket checking personnel detected and penalized a total of 25,610 cases of non-compliance of covid-19 appropriate behavior. A total of 20,570 cases of passengers not wearing masks/face covers and 5,040 cases of people not allowed to travel as per covid-19 guidelines were detected and an amount of Rs.34.74 lakhs and Rs.25.20 lakhs respectively were realized as fine.

Central Railway in its endeavor to provide better services to bonafide rail users and also to curb ticketless travel, has regularly conducted intensive campaigns against ticketless and irregular travel. Intensive and regular ticket checking drives are conducted in suburban and non-suburban / Mail Express trains to ensure that o­nly bonafide passengers travel in trains in accordance with Government guidelines and following Covid19 protocol.

It is also worth mentioning that while performing their duties, the Ticket Checking Staff of Central Railway has exhibited utmost courtesy and civil behavior leading to reduction in complaints. They have also exhibited their humane side by uniting lost children with their parents o­n numerous occasions.

Central Railway appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity & follow all norms mandated for Covid-19.

General Manager Central Railway inaugurated and inspected Combined Crew Running Room and Booking Lobby for Main Line at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai

Shri Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway inaugurated and inspected the new building of Combined Crew Running Room and Booking Lobby (Main Line) at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai today.  

This newly commissioned G+5 building has a capacity of 192 beds which is highest o­n Central Railway with provision of separate rooms and washrooms for lady crew members also.

Salient Features

• The ground floor consists of Crew Booking Lobby and other offices including two CMS Kiosk, utility rooms and toilet blocks
• The first floor consists of Veg / Non-veg canteen, yoga & gymnasium rooms, library, recreation room with toilet blocks
• The 2nd floor to 5th floor it consists 48 nos. of air-conditioned residential rooms i.e. 12 rooms o­n each floor with three toilet blocks and two balconies o­n each floor.  
• Latest technology of variable refrigerant flow used for air conditioning, which will help in saving of electricity of 200 units per day.
• Two lifts provided with 8 persons capacity each.
• For sufficient water storage underground tank of 1 lakh litre capacity and an overhead tank of 60 thousand litre capacity provided.
• Power backup generator of 100 KVA also provided

This combined crew running room and lobby will enable seamless coordination between various crew control offices.

Shri B.K Dadabhoy, AGM, Shri Manoj Sharma, CAO(C), Shri Gopal Chandra, PCEE, Shri Mukul Jain, PCOM, Shri Mani Jit Singh, PCCM,Shri S.K. Pankaj, SDGM, Shri Alok Singh, PCSO,  A.K. Shrivastava, PCSTE, Shri R.L. Rana, PCMM, Shri Shalabh Goel, DRM-BB and other senior officials were present o­n the occasion. All Covid19 mandated protocols were observed during inspection.
