PERFORMANCE REVIEW MEETING

 

Kolkata, 23rd January 2020:

 

Sri Rajesh Agrawal, Member, Rolling Stock, Railway Board held a High Level Meeting at S E Railway Headquarters, Garden Reach today (23/01/2020) to critically review the Rolling Stock performance of zonal railways and production units.

 

Sri J K Saha, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, South Eastern Railway, Sri S R Ghosal, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Eastern Railway, Sri Gautam Majumdar, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Metro Railway and PCMEs of South East Central, Northeast Frontier Railways along with top officials of Burn Standard, Braithwaite, RITES and RDSO attended the meeting.

 

During the day-long meeting, Sri Agrawal laid thrust o­n quality of maintenance of passenger coaches and other rolling stock to ensure safety and reliability of rail transportation. Sri Agrawal appreciated modernization of train examination of South Eastern Railway and the improved asset utilization. He mentioned that safe rail movement basically depends o­n fit and flawless rolling stock and there should be no compromise with low quality mechanical equipments. Sri Agrawal also stressed o­n regular overhauling of coaches and locomotives to perform better train services.

 

Sri S K Yagnick, Director, Indian Railway Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering presented modern concepts of training and re-skilling officers to meet challenges of the future.

GM/ER CONDUCTED NIGHT LONG INSPECTION OVER SEALDAH –BARASAT- BANGAON - RANAGHAT SECTION OF SEALDAH DIVISION

Kolkata, January 18, 2020:

            Shri Suneet Sharma, General Manager, Eastern Railway conducted annual inspection over Sealdah – Barasat - Bangaon- Ranaghat section of ER’s Sealdah Division in the night of 17/18.01.2020 .

            During the night long inspection, besides inspecting various safety aspects like major rail bridge, track conditions, curves, points & crossings and other infrastructural items, Shri Sharma thoroughly inspected different passenger amenities like Waiting Rooms, drinking water facilities, cleanliness etc. at different stations in the sections. He instructed all concerned to put their best efforts for maintaining safe train operations and for providing better amenities, services and cleanliness.

            Before proceeding for Barasat, Shri Sharma inspected Sealdah station and inaugurated the combined crew booking lobby at Sealdah .

            At Barasat, Shri Suneet Sharma, GM/ER inaugurated a battery operated material transportation van made of used EMU battery as a measure of green initiative. GM inspected Barasat Car Shed where he also inaugurated a Ladies Coach with Emergency Communication system & a technical library. He also inaugurated renovated Health Unit at Barasat and interacted with doctors and staff of the Health Unit. Shri Sharma inspected all the amenities , facilities and circulating area at Barasat station. While interacting with the media persons at Barasat, GM/ER informed them about various o­n-going developmental activities of Railways.

            GM/ER inspected level crossing gate No.16/E between Bamangachhi – Duttapukur and interacted with the Gateman, Gangman and other field staff. He inspected Thakurnagar station and booking office there.

       At Bangaon, GM inspected different safety aspects, passenger amenities, Railway colony and Running Room. While inspecting the Running Room at Bangaon , GM/ER inaugurated a room for the lady  Loco Pilots and reading room there. During visit to the Railway Colony at Bangaon , he also interacted with the dwellers of the Railway Colony.

            At Satberia Halt, he inaugurated a booking office and inspected the station area. GM inspected major bridge No. 19 V between Satberia and Gopalnagar o­n Bangaon – Ranaghat section.

            GM/ER also conducted speed trial between Gopalnagar and Ranaghat o­n the single line section, a stretch of 21.12 km.

All Principal Officers of ER, DRM/Sealdah and Divisional Officers accompanied GM during the inspection.
