SER TO RUN FOUR PAIRS OF PUJA SPECIAL TRAINS

BETWEEN SHALIMAR AND JAIPUR

 

Kolkata, 19th September, 2019:

 

With a view to clear extra rush of passengers during Durga Puja and Dipawali, South Eastern Railway has decided to run four pairs of Special trains between Shalimar-Jaipur-Shalimar leaving Shalimar every Monday between 07.10.19 and 28.10.19 and leaving Jaipur every Wednesday between 09.10.19 and 30.10.19.

The Shalimar-Jaipur Special (08061) leaving Shalimar every Monday at 20:20 hrs will reach Jaipur at 06.35 hrs o­n Wednesday. In the opposite direction, the train (08062) leaving Jaipur every Wednesday at 12:50 hrs will arrive Shalimar at 23:20 hrs, the next day. The Special trains will have four AC-2 Tier, five AC 3 Tier and four sleeper class coaches and will have stoppages at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Raigarh, Champa, Bilaspur, Pendra Road, Anupur, Shadol, Katni Murwara, Damoh, Sagour, Bina Malkhedi, Guna, Ruthiyai, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bansthali Niwai and Durgapura stations enroute.

Booking for train no. 08061 Shalimar-Jaipur Special will be available through PRS & Internet with immediate effect.

SWR CONDUCTS MASSIVE SHRAMDAN  

As part of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ being observed over Indian Railways from 16.09.2019 to 30.09.2019, today i.e., o­n 17.09.2019, South Western Railway conducted ‘Swachhta Walkathon’ from Divisional office to Hubballi Railway station.  The Walkathon was led by Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager of SWR.  Officers, staff, Scouts & Guides, school children displayed placards bearing messages o­n cleanliness and raised slogans to bring awareness among the people.

In order to minimize generation of plastic waste and it’s ecofriendly disposal, railway has decided to enforce ban o­n single use plastic material from 2nd October, 2019.  In this direction, railway organized a massive shramdan at various locations including station premises, colonies etc. with special focus o­n plastic waste.  At Hubballi railway station a skit was presented by the Scouts & Guides and School children bringing out the importance of cleanliness, segregation of wastes into dry & wet and hazards of plastic.   o­n the occasion, Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, inaugurated the cloth bag store where cloth bags were distributed to passengers in place of carry bags and motivated to use reusable items to reduce plastic footprint.  A talk o­n plastic waste management was delivered by Smt. Ottilie Kamal, CEO & Founder of Evolve Lives Foundation at Hubballi Railway station.  She said that India stands 4th in the production of plastic waste.  o­ne truck of plastic garbage is being added into the sea every day which is a cause of concern.  We have to adopt sustainable lifestyle by using materials which can be recycled and reusable, she said.  Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri A.K. Singh, GM/SWR said that o­n 2nd October, 2014 Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India launched the Swachhta Abhiyan.  Cleanliness is not o­ne day affair.  It should become a habit of our life, he said.     A Drawing & Painting competition o­n the theme ‘Plastic Waste Management’ was conducted at Hubballi railway station.  80 children participated in Group 1 for children upto 16 years and 16 people participated in Group 2 for above 16 years.  A massive cleanliness drive was conducted o­n the occasion at various locations viz., Hubballi station, circulating area, station yard, running room, railway officers’ colony, Down Chawl, MTS Colony, Railway Hospital, Rail nagar colony etc. by the teams led by various Headquarters Officers   and huge number of plastic wastes were collected and disposed off.
