BREASTFEEDING CENTRE AT BOISAR STATION OF Photo caption: The newly inaugurated Baby Feeding Centre at Boisar station of Mumbai Division of Western Railway. The Baby Feeding Centre was inaugurated by the station staff on the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4th February, 2020. Western Railway has always taken extra special care of its women commuters. From starting the world’s first ever Ladies’ Special local train on 5th May, 1992 to providing better security facilities such as CCTV cameras & talk-back system inside ladies’ coaches, Western Railway has always been working to make the journey of women passengers a safe & happy travelling experience. Continuing with this, Western Railway has now installed a baby feeding centre at Boisar station of Mumbai Division on the occasion of World Cancer Day on 4thFebruary, 2020. According to a press release issued by Shri Ravinder Bhakar – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the Baby Feeding Centre at Boisar is with the approach to create awareness about breastfeeding and also to facilitate new mothers to feed their new born. 4th February is observed as World Cancer Day and was the perfect day chosen to inaugurate this Baby Feeding Centre at Boisar station as it is a well-established fact that breastfeeding prevents breast cancer by lowering the risk of pre and post-menopausal breast cancer. Breastfeeding can also help in lowering the chances of ovarian cancer by preventing ovulation. The centre has been installed with combined efforts by Child Help Foundation and sponsored by Alkem Foundation which is free to use by lactating mothers. Western Railway had previously installed a baby feeding centre at Palghar station and now after this centre at Boisar, Western Railway has planned to install similar centres at Umbergaon, Sanjan and Bhilad stations of Mumbai Division. **********
