Press Release No. 341, PARTIAL CANCELLATION / DIVERSION OF TRAINS, PARTIAL CANCELLATION & AUGMENTATION OF COACHES

I.   PARTIAL CANCELLATION / DIVERSION OF TRAINS

Following trains will be partially cancelled/diverted due to Line Block and Power Block in view of work for diversion of 1C line at Baiyyappanahall.

PARTIAL CANCELLATION:

1.Train No. 06567 Whitefield – Banaswadi MEMU commencing journey from Whitefield o­n 10.01.2019 will be partially cancelled between Baiyyappanahall – Banaswadi.

2.Train No. 06568 Banaswadi – Whitefield MEMU commencing journey from Banaswadion10.01.2019 will be partially cancelled between Banaswadi Baiyyappanahall.

DIVERSION:

1.Train No. 12246 Yesvantpur – Howrah Duranto Express commencing journey o­n 10.01.2020 will be diverted to run via Yelahanka, Channasandra, Krishnarajapuram instead of Banaswadi, Baiyyappanahall, Krishnarajapuram.

2.Train No. 22498 Tiruchirappalli – Sri Ganganagar Humsafar Express commencing journey o­n 10.01.2020 will be diverted to run via Krishnarajapuram, Channasandra, Yelahanka, Lottegolahali, Yesvantpur Byepass with temporary stoppage at Yelahanka instead of Krishnarajapuram, Baiyyappanahall, Banaswadi, Yesvantpur Byepass.

II.   PARTIAL CANCELLATION

1.Train No. 17325 Belagavi – Ashokapuram Vishvamanava Express commencing journey from Belagavi from 13.01.2020 o­nwards will be partially cancelled between Mysuru – Ashokapuram until further advise.

2.Train No. 17326 Ashokapuram – Belagavi Vishvamanava Express commencing journey from Ashokapuram from 13.01.2020 o­nwards will be partially cancelled between Ashokapuram – Mysuru until further advise.


III.   AUGMENTATION OF COACHES

Train No. 16205/16206 Mysuru – Talguppa – Mysuru Express will be temporarily augmented with FOUR General Second Class Coaches with effect from 13.01.2020.

SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY HOLDS 20th ZONAL RAILWAY USERS CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE MEETING AT GOA

The 20th Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting of SWR was held at Goa o­n 13.12. 2019.  Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR presided over the meeting.  

35 ZRUCC members representing different forums and special Interest members nominated from Railway Board discussed various issues relating to improvement in services coming under the jurisdiction of South Western Railway.

      In the inaugural address, Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR said that SWR is committed to development and provision of better facilities to the Rail users.   Safety, security and amenities to passengers was given importance. 8 new trains have been introduced this year.  Works have been sanctioned for doubling and electrification and all sanctioned works was going o­n in war footing with tight targets.

He informed that SWR is surging ahead after Hon’ble MoSR Shri Suresh Angadi has taken over and infrastructure development is o­n a fast track.   Last year 227 Km of Railway track was doubled which is o­ne of the highest out put compared to the national average and another 266 km of doubling o­n the main routes is planned for commissioning so that Railway network  o­n SWR is further doubled.  He informed the members that so far 83 km has already been doubled & 76 km electrification is also completed in this financial year.

ZRUCC Members discussed various issues from running of new train, extension of trains to stoppage of trains at stations. o­ne of the demands was starting of new train from Miraj – Belagavi – Miraj and direct train from Hubballi to new Delhi.  Up gradation of passenger amenities at important stations was also sought by Members.  It was informed that upgraded amenities were being provided at stations along with doubling being taken up o­n SWR.  Members also requested to complete the o­ngoing doubling works.  Provision of coaching terminals at Naganhalli near Mysuru and Talguppa near Shivamoga and  additional  Pit line at Vasco was discussed for better maintenance of trains at stations.  Members also suggested for construction of Road Over Bridges and Subways for easy movement of Road and Rail traffic.  Security at stations and provision of CCTV stations was also discussed in detail.  Members from Bengaluru also requested for taking up work of suburban services in Bengaluru.  It was informed that extended Board had agreed to the proposal and it was awaiting cabinet approval.

Election for a ZRUCC member to represent SWR at the National Railway Users Consultative Committee at Railway Board level was conducted.  Five members contested for the post and Shri Babulal G Jain of Vijayanagar Railway Passengers Association was elected. Shri Babulal G Jain will represent SWR at NRUCC at Railway Board.

Shri Shiv Raj Singh, Principal Chief Commercial Manager , Shri R Baskaran , Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer,  Shri D B Kasar, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Dr. Vilas Gunda, Principal Chief Medical Director, Shri M A V Ramanujan, Principal Chief Safety Officer,  Shri H M Dinesh, Chief  Passenger Traffic Manger, Shri Mahesh Kumar Meena,  CESE, Shri Vinod Bampal, CTE, Shri R P Meena, CME/Planning, Shri R H Khan, CMM/RS, Shri S.K. Jha, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Infrastructure/Hubballi, Shri S.B.Sahoo, CPM/RVNL and  Smt E.Vijaya, DGM (G) & CPRO Secretary, ZRUCC and other senior Officers from South Western Railway were present in the meeting.
