SPEED OVER LOOP LINE IN YELAHANKA - BANGARPET SECTION INCREASED

Necessary track worksin Yelahanka - Bangarapet section over Bengaluru Division were carried out and now speed over loop lines in this section have been increased from 15 to 30 km/h.

Increasing the maximum permissible speed on turnouts and loop lines of Devanahalli (Road - 2), Chikkaballapur (Road 1 & 3), Chintamani (Road 1 & 3), Srinivaspura (Road 1 & 3) and Kolar (Road 1 & 3) except Sidlaghatta stations of Yelahanka – Bangarapet section from 15 to 30 Km/h. This will improve the mobility in the section as the trains can enter and exit loop lines at a faster speed.

The conventional rake travelling in these sections will save around 2 mins at the above stations due to increase in speed of loop lines.

This section primarily caters to DEMU trains and frequent travelers, so it will benefit local commuters of the area.
