-Nine Ticket Checking Staff Collect Record Fine of Over ₹1 Crore Each

South Central Railway has been continuously undertaking intensive ticket checking drives to curb unauthorized travel and curtail any inconvenience to the bona fide Rail users. In this direction, teams of dedicated ticket checking staff have been putting in relentless efforts leading to the improvement in ticket sales over the zone. Nine ticket checking staff of SCR created history by collecting a record fine Rs. 1 crore each from commuters travelling without ticket, irregular travelling and un-booked luggage. The Nine staff members collected a whopping Rs. 9.62 crores from 1.16 lakh commuters through their intensive ticket checking drives in various trains.

Each of the nine ticket checking staff through their dedicated efforts, have made it to the “One Crore Club” in the current financial year 2022-23. This is the first time in History of South Central Railway that any individual ticket checking staff has crossed Rs. 1.0 crore in earnings. The staff include seven from Secunderabad Division and o­ne each from Guntakal and Vijayawada Divisions. Shri T. Natarajan, Chief Ticket Inspector/Sr.DCM Batch of Secunderabad Division is the highest earner and realized an amount of Rs. 1.16 Crores from 12,689 Passengers Travelling without Ticket /Irregular Tickets and carrying un-booked luggage.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway commended the ticket checking staff for their exemplary performance and dedication. He also congratulated the entire commercial wing for their continuous efforts in curbing ticketless and irregular travel. He stated that Ticket checking is o­ne of the critical mechanisms which helps in reducing unauthorized travel in trains while also building confidence among the genuine rail passengers. He appealed to all the Rail passengers to travel with valid railway tickets and Travel Authorities.

PR No. 982 Accord Priority to Ensure Punctuality in Train Operations - Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM/SCR

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a detailed review meeting o­n safety, punctuality and freight loading operations of the zone today i.e., 20thMarch, 2023 at Rail Nilayam Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of the Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain held a detailed review o­n punctuality performance of mail and express trains across the zone. He examined the division wise punctuality statistics and instructed the officials to identify the root causes for issues affecting punctuality and take remedial steps to improve the performance. He also advised the officials to make action plans for optimal utilization of the man power during traffic blocks which will help to avoid detentions. He further instructed the Divisional Railway Managers to identify and monitor the trains which have lost punctuality and take appropriate measures for improving their operations.

On safety aspect, the General Manager advised the officials to analyze compliance of guidelines and procedures at work-sites at regular intervals to keep track o­n the effectiveness of safety drives being conducted throughout the zone. He also advised the officials to strictly monitor implementation of safety measures at goods sheds and sidings. He also reviewed the status of refresher courses and regular training being imparted to safety staff.

Further, the General Manager conducted a detailed review o­n freight loading performance of the zone. He appreciated the divisions for growth in freight loading and advised the officials to put in extra efforts to ensure seamless running of freight trains so as to meet the requirements of the freight customers and also ensure maximum freight loading for the current financial year.
