- Reviewed the performance of Safety, freight Loading and Punctuality oÂn the Zone Shri Arun Kumar Jain (In-Charge), General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting oÂn Safety, Freight loading and Punctuality of the Zone today i.e., 24th May, 2022 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference. The General Manager reviewed the status of safety drives being conducted over the zone for smooth running of trains and safety of workmen. He emphasized that during the course of the safety drives the officers, supervisors as well as the construction staff should be sensitized oÂn all aspects of safety. He instructed the field officials to ensure worksite safety requirements without fail. He also instructed the officials to intensive the counselling sessions involving the staff who are related to train running operations. The General Manager reviewed the safety action plans prepared by the zone and reiterated strict adherence to the guidelines and safety measures. He also advised the staff to frequently conduct field inspections and ensure regular monitoring of track parameters so that timely action can be taken if required. The Shri Arun Kumar Jain also held a detailed review oÂn freight loading performance of the zone and congratulated the officials in the increase of freight loading compared to previous financial year during same period and also emphasized to continue to keep up the good work. The General Manager also advised the officials that there is lot of scope for further improvement in freight loading like Cement, Coal, Fertilizers, Food grains etc., The General Manager reviewed the progress of oÂngoing projects of the zone. The Business Developmental Units of all the six divisions gave a brief presentation oÂn the new commodities added to the freight basket. He advised the officials to conduct regular meetings with freight customers, so that the problems, if any, can be resolved immediately. The General Manager appreciated the efforts and advised them to take up every opportunity to further boost the freight loading and attain the targets set. 2

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway held discussions with M/s Adani Krishnapatnam Port and undertook inspection of progress of 3rd line works between Gudur – Vijayawada section oÂn Vijayawada Division today i.e., 21st May, 2022. He was accompanied by Shri Shivedra Mohan, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division and other senior officials from both the Headquarters and Division throughout the inspection. Shri Arun Kumar Jain held discussions with the Management functionaries of M/s Adani Krishnapatnam Port to improve freight loading opportunities. Port officials detailed the General Manager oÂn the activities and performance highlights of the Port. They also elaborated oÂn the future plans of the Port management and also discussed oÂn further infrastructure developmental plans to be provided at Port. The General Manager assured the Port officials to extend co-operation from Railways to improve freight loading and to make seamless transportation of important commodities. He also inspected loading facilities available at Port siding and advised the officials to follow all the safety norms while loading. The General Manager planted sapling during his visit to Costal Installation project at Port. General Manager carried out rear window inspection between Krishnapatnam Port Station - Vijayawada section. He thoroughly examined the curves, gradients, bottlenecks and bridges over the section to ensure track safety. The General Manager conducted a detailed inspection of Nellore Railway station and reviewed the passenger amenities, booking office, circulating area etc. He also reviewed the developmental plans of Nellore Railway station. He instructed the officials to focus oÂn ensuring the completion of developmental works as per the time schedule. Shri Arun Kumar Jain inspected Padugupadu Railway station and reviewed the passenger facilities, circulating area, Foot over bridge, Station Manager’s room etc. He also inspected goods siding at Padugupadu Railway station and reviewed loading and unloading facilities. He instructed the officials to be customer friendly and co-operative with the local freight customers to improve freight loading. Later, the General Manager inspected Bitragunta Railway station and reviewed the passenger amenities, facilities at goods siding and Foot over bridge etc. He also inspected Crew booking lobby and interacted with the loco crew at Bitragunta crew lobby. He also inspected oÂngole Railway station and reviewed passenger amenities, booking office, ATVM, circulating area and goods siding and he examined the yard plans. He inspected food and fruit juice stalls oÂn the platform and interacted with the vendors. He also inspected Health unit and interacted with Medical officer and paramedical staff oÂn the medical facilities available. He inspected Bapatla Railway Station and reviewed the passenger amenities, circulation area and inspected the Safety related registers at Station Master’s room. The General Manager inspected the progress of oÂn-going 3rd line works between Gudur - Vijayawada section. The officials briefed the General Manager about the status of oÂn-going 3rd line works. The General Manager instructed the officials to maintain the best standards in all spheres of 3rd line works.
