Baggage scanning and wrapping facility - A unique initiative at Kalyan and LTT stations

Central Railway has taken several innovative measures keeping in mind the safety of passengers and railway employees in view of Covid19 such as 'Captain ARJUN' o­n Pune Division, Automatic Ticket Check and Access Management (ATMA) o­n Nagpur Division, FebriEye Thermal body screening and Medical Assistant 'Jeevak' and 'Rakshak' o­n Mumbai division, Medical Assistant (Ro) Bot versions 1 and 2 on Solapur Division.

In this connection, a unique initiative has been taken up  under the NINFRIS policy at Kalyan and LTT railway station o­n Mumbai Division of Central Railway recently, in which sanitizing and wrapping facilities of passenger baggage to protect them in view of Covid pandemic during their journey. The ultra violet (UV) ray sanitizing is provided at an affordable rate and based o­n the size of the baggage, the sanitizing charges are determined.

This facility which was made available first at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus of Mumbai Division, received good response from the passengers.  After Kalyan and LTT stations, it will be provided at Dadar, Thane, and Panvel station also.

SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY SPORTS ASSOCIATION

 (SWRSA) ORGANIZES CRICKET MATCH BETWEEN SWR

 HQ AND SWR HUBBALLI DIVISION

SWRSA organized a 20:20 cricket match at the RIS Cricket ground (Opposite Hubballi Workshop) o­n 30.10.2020 between teams of South Western Railway Headquarters (General Managers XI) and the Hubballi Division (Divisional Railway Manager XI) Teams.

The Hubballi Division team was captained by Shri Ramachandra Reddy, DSTE/UBL and the Headquarter team was led by Shri Shuja Md., Dy.CPO/Welfare.  Batting first the SWR HQ team scored 167 runs for the loss of 2 wickets with the captain Shri Shuja Md.  scoring highest number of runs 67.  Replying to the Head quarter score, the Hubballi Division team could muster 135 runs in their allotted 20 overs losing 9 wickets.

Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR, Smt Sujata Singh, President SWRWWO, Shri P K Mishra Additional Railway Manager and Principal Heads of the Departments witnessed the 20:20 cricket match between the teams. 

Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, GM/SWR, presented the winners trophy to the Headquarters team and to Shri Shuja Md, who was also declared Man of the Match. Shri Harshit was declared the best batsman and Shri Dipankar best bowler.  Shri Prakash Chaudhary was the best fielder.  Shri S S Katware, President, SWRSA planned and organized the cricket match. Later traditional games and Lajori was conducted for the families and children of the officers.
