LEVEL CROSSING BETWEEN DAINHAT & KATWA REPLACED WITH A LIMITED HEIGHT SUBWAY IN ER’S HOWRAH DIVISION Kolkata, February 21, 2022 A glorious day indeed in the kitty of Howrah division when the engineers of ER’s Howrah Division planned & executed a mega block of 13.40 hrs. on 20.3.2022 between Dainhat & Katwa to replace a level crossing with a limited height subway. Despite small interruption by rains, the work was executed in a planned manner. Divisional engineers, inspectors alongwith 200 labourers worked tirelessly at limited height subway site alongwith two cranes and 4 Poclain machines. In the shadow of the mega block, conversion of Bridge No. 205, which was a stone slab bridge between Tenya & Salar by a pre-cast Reinforced Cement Concrete Box, was also planned & executed satisfactorily within the same 11 hours' block, utilizing 140T Railway crane for the work. Shri Manish Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Howrah congratulated the entire team on their success and for their dedicated efforts & maintaining close coordination between various departments of ER’s Howrah division to accomplish such a huge construction work within a record span.
