दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे/ SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY प्रेस विज्ञप्ति/ Press Release No. 404 Dt: 05.03.2021 RAILWAY ELECTRIFICATION on FAST TRACK on SWR §First electric locomotive ran on trial basis at Dharwad. §Electrification works completed in 162 Km and scheduled for CRS inspection §SWR already commissioned electrification of 111 Km in 2020-21 till now. §Hosapete – Hubballi – Castle Rock total track to be electrified in next six months. Indian Railways has aimed to complete Electrification of it’s Broad gauge network by 2023. Work on electrification projects on South Western Railway is in full swing and 162 Km will be inspected by Commissioner of Railway safety in coming three days i.e. 7th, 8th and 9th Mar.2021. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. is executing the works of Electrification in Hubballi, Vasco, Ballari to Chikjajur & Baiyappanahalli to Salem Routes. On Bengaluru Division, 47 Rkm between Periyanagathunai - Palakkodu, which is part of Baiyyappanahalli – Omalur Section, will be inspected by CRS on 07.03.2021. So far 72 RKm between Baiyyappanahali – Anekal Road – Periyanagathunai has been commissioned in this section. With this, total of 119 Rkm out of 196 Rkm will be completed which will facilitate faster running of trains between Baiyyappanahalli and Omalur and also suburban train services. On Hubballi Division, 65 Rkm between Hubballi and Alnawar will be inspected by CRS on 08.03.2021. This is part of the Hosapete - Hubballi – Vasco section. Electrification between Kariganuru – Harlapur (73 RKm) was completed this year. Hosapete to Hulkoti (99 Rkm) work of Electrification has already been completed .Electrification Work between Hulkoti to Hubballi and Alnavar to Castle Rock is in progress and is targeted for June 2021. All the mandatory works such as tests and inspection by senior Railway officials have been completed. Mandatory Electric Loco trial prior to CRS inspection was conducted on 3rd March in this section. With this 138 Km has been completed on this section. On Mysuru Division 50 Rkm between Thalaku and Chitradurga will be inspected by CRS on 09.03.2021. This is part of the section between Ballari and Chikjajur. General Manager, South Western Railway, Shri Ajay Kumar Singh has said that remarkable progress has been achieved by the Zone in terms of electrification, even in the year marked by pandemic. दक्षिण पूर्व रेलवे SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY प्रेस विज्ञप्ति PRESS RELEASE HON’BLE MPs OF DIVISIONAL COMMITTEE OF KHARAGPUR AND ADRA HOLD MEETING WITH SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY Kolkata, 17th February, 2021: The meeting of the Divisional Committee comprising of Hon’ble Members of Parliament both from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha under jurisdiction of Kharagpur and Adra Divisions of South Eastern Railway was held at Kolkata this morning (17/2/2021). The Divisional Committee Meeting was chaired by Sri Dilip Ghosh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament. The other Hon’ble Members of Parliament who attended the meeting were Sri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Hon’ble Minister of State of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Govt of India, Sri Prasun Banerjee, Sri Kunar Hembram, Smt. Manjulata Mandal, Smt. Mamata Mohanta, Sri Sunil Kumar Mondal, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Sri Jyotirmay Singh Mahato and Sri Chandra Prakash Choudhary. Sri Sisir Adhikari, Sri Dibyendu Adhikari and Sri Bishweswar Tudu joined the meeting through video conferencing. The Hon’ble MPs offered their valuable suggestions for overall development of South Eastern Railway. Hon’ble MPs praised the developmental works undertaken by Railways for all sections of the society. They also mentioned about the dedicated service of the railway employees during the lockdown and post lockdown period especially in running of Parcel Express Trains carrying essential commodities and Shramik Special Trains for bringing back the migrant workers to their home states during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hon’ble MPs held discussions on various issues associated with train services, stoppages, passenger facilities, cleanliness, expeditious completion of railway projects, etc. for the benefit of the passengers. Hon’ble MPs of the Divisional Committee of Kharagpur and Adra Divisions assured their cooperation for the smooth functioning of the railway Sri Sanjay Kumar Mohanty, General Manager, South Eastern Railway while welcoming the Hon’ble Members of Parliament highlighted the services rendered by South Eastern Railway to its users in respect of passenger amenities, resumption of trains in post lockdown period, running of special trains, status of ongoing projects etc. General Manager also stated that the suggestions offered by the Hon’ble MPs for development of passenger amenities and railway infrastructure would be reviewed with proper importance. The meeting was attended by the Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur & Adra and all the Principal Head of the Departments of South Eastern Railway. The necessity of holding this kind of High Level Meeting is to have direct communication between railway administration and the Hon’ble MPs for exchange of information and innovative ideas to improve passenger amenities, safety and security and to sustain the confidence of travelling public as well as rail users.

Hi,I need information rednrgiag the toy train. As in, at what time is it available, how do i book the tickets and is there any other way to to reach there, if not the toy train? I tried the irctc website but its not showing the train. I wish to go to Matheran over this weekend i. e., 15 and 16th of dec. Immediate reply is appreciated.
