The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS)/NF circle Shri Suvomoy Mitra has completed the statutory inspection of the newly laid double line between Mirza & Azara stations on 03rdMay, 2023. This newly laid second line will be utilized for goods and passenger traffic with maximum speed of about 100 km per hour. The Mirza - Azara section is part of the New Bongaigaon – Kamakhya via Goalpara 176 km doubling project. The project includes 60 major bridges, 394 minor bridges, 05 Road Under Bridges, 62 Limited Height Subways and construction of 18 new station buildings. The stretch between Azara to Mirza is of 11.35 km. Speed trial at about 115 km per hour was done by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS)/NF circle. Modern technologies like, robust track structure with use of all wide base Pre-stressed Concrete (PSC) sleepers & Thick Web Switches which is new design of sturdier switches on pre-stressed concrete sleepers and can handle higher speeds were used for this double line territory. It is to be mentioned here that with the laying of double line, movement of trains can be done in both directions without stop-over crossings at stations which will increase the punctuality of trains. More trains can be run with enhanced speed. Earlier 29.71 km section between Dudhnai to Dhupdhara was commissioned on 24th November, 2022. on completion of this entire section of New Bongaigaon – Kamakhya via Goalpara, the northeast connectivity will be boosted significantly. दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे / SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY I.DIVERSION / RESCHEDULING OF TRAINS The following trains will be diverted and rescheduled as notified by Northeast Frontier Railway due to non-interlocking works and Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection between Pathshala and Nalbari stations of Rangiya division, as detailed below: DIVERSION: 1.Train No. 12551 Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru – Kamakhya Weekly Superfast Express leaving from SMVT Bengaluru on May 20, 2023, will be diverted to run via New Bongaigaon Jn., Goalpara Town and Kauriya Halt, skipping stoppage at Rangiya Jn. RESCHEDULING: 2.Train No. 12552 Kamakhya - Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru Weekly Superfast Express scheduled to depart from Kamakhya at 14:00 hrs on May 24, 2023, will be rescheduled to depart at 17:30 hrs. II.DIVERSION OF TRAIN NO. 16525 As notified by Southern Railway, Train No. 16525 Kanniyakumari - KSR Bengaluru Daily Express, leaving from Kanniyakumari on May 21, 2023, will be diverted to run via Alappuzha station due to a line block for re-girdering of bridge between Mavelikara and Chengannur. This train will provide additional stoppages on the diverted route at Harippadu, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala, and Ernakulam stations. III.REGULATION OF TRAIN NO. 12836 As notified by South Eastern Railway, Train No. 12836 Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru – Hatia Bi-weekly Superfast Express leaving from SMVT Bengaluru on May 23, 2023 will be regulated for 3 hours 45 minutes enroute due to traffic cum power block for Normal Height Subway in lieu of level crossing gate between Kansbahal and Rajgangpur stations of Chakaradharpur division.
