WR Press Release No. 2021/1 Mumbai, 15th January, 2021 WR TO RUN SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN DADAR AND BIKANER For the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand, Western Railway has decided to run additional special train between Dadar and Bikaner. According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the Dadar – Bikaner- Dadar special train will run w.e.f 17th January, 2021 till further notice. Details of this special train are as under: ·Train No 04708/04707 Dadar – Bikaner Express Special (Daily) Train No 04708 Dadar - Bikaner Special train will leave Dadar at 12.35hrs w.e.f. 18th January, 2021 and will reach Bikaner at 11.30 hrs, the next day. Similarly, Train No. 04707 Bikaner - DadarSpecial train will leave Bikaner at 07.50 hrs w.e.f17thJanuary, 2021 and arrive Dadar at 07.10 hrs, the next day. The train will halt at Borivali, Palghar, Vapi, Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Kalol, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Pindwara, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Somesar, Marwar, Pali Marwar, Luni, Jodhpur, Raika Bagh, Gotan, Merta Road, Marwar Mundwa, Nagaur and Nokha stations in both directions. This train will have AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and Second Class seating coaches. The booking for Train No. 04708 will open from 17th Jan, 2021 at nominated PRS counters and on IRCTC website. The train will run as fully reserved train. ********* 2

ER PARCEL EXPRESS TRAINS TRANSPORTED 6525 TONNES OF PARCEL TRAFFIC DURING DECEMBER 2020 Kolkata, January 10, 2021: Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 globally, lockdown was introduced in our country from 22.3.2020. All the trains running were suspended from 24.3.2020. To continue the supply chain of essential items, Eastern Railway started running of Time Tabled COVID Parcel Special Trains to different destinations from 8.4.2020 from three stations in Kolkata area viz. Howrah, Sealdah & Kolkata to offer safe, secured, economical & environment friendly mode of transportation. The five destinations where the Parcel Express Trains run include Guwahati, Agartala, Amritsar, New Delhi & Gorakhpur on different days of a week. The Parcel Express trains supply vegetables and other perishable consignments alongwith general merchandise and essential commodities. For the convenience of the customers, the minimum composition of Parcel Express Trains has been reduced from 20 parcel vans to 15 and 10 parcel vans for perishables. Moreover, enroute stoppages were increased as per demand. During December 2020, 6525 tonnes of parcel traffic was transported, generating revenue of ₹2.18 crores. In terms of transportation time and cost effectiveness, Parcel Express Trains are more convenient than road transport and is more safe & secured. Running of Parcel Express Trains facilitate back end supply chain to meet the demand in the market of the country. The growth of parcel business is very important as these services are used by small traders and businessmen. Eastern Railway’s aim is to steep growth in parcel business and to explore more efforts and innovative ideas to bring the desired growth. Parcel Express Trains run punctually to gain customers’ confidence for using the services.
