Press Release:REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR DOUBLING WORK OVER NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY



Kolkata, February 17, 2023:

In connection with the doubling work of Bakulha – Suraimanpur – Reoti – Sahatwar in Varanasi Division of North Eastern Railway, pre non-interlocking/ non-interlocking work has been planned from 19.02.2023 to 28.02.2023. Consequently, following arrangements have been planned in train running :-

Short termination/ Short origination:
13105 Sealdah – Ballia Express (journey commencing from 18.02.2023 to 27.02.2023), 13121 Kolkata – Ghazipur City Weekly Express (journey commencing o­n 19.02.2023 & 26.02.2023) and 13137 Kolkata – Azamgarh Weekly Express (journey commencing o­n 20.02.2023 & 27.02.2023) will be short terminated at Chhapra.

13106 Ballia - Sealdah Express (journey commencing from 19.02.2023 to 28.02.2023), 13122 Ghazipur City - Kolkata Weekly Express (journey commencing o­n 20.02.2023 & 27.02.2023) and 13138 Azamgarh - Kolkata Weekly Express (journey commencing o­n 21.02.2023 & 28.02.2023) will be short originated from Chhapra.

Moreover, 15050 Gorakhpur – Kolkata Express (journey commencing o­n 22.02.2023) will be controlled for 90 minutes enroute.

Inconvenience to be caused to the passengers is deeply regretted.

SAFETY AWARD CEREMONY AT MALDA

Safety is an integral part of train operations to avert accidents. Indian Railways continue to accord highest importance o­n safety aspects for ensuring secured journey. In an endeavour to encourage safety consciousness and appreciate the bravery of Railway staff who are ensuring safety, Eastern Railway’s Malda Division is organizing safety award every week. o­n 30.11.22 Shri Vikas Chaube, Divisional Railway Manager/Malda awarded Shri Surendra Pandit, Sr. Technician, Carriage and wagon/ Malda, Shri Rabindra Kumar, Chief Loco Inspector, Malda Town, Shri Upendra Paswan, Signal Maintainer, Gr I under SSE (SIG)/Malda and Shri Sadeque Ali, Signal Maintainer, Sujnipara.

During his duty, Shri Surendra Pandit found that primary outer and inner spring set was broken of 13484 down Farakka Express. He immediately informed concerned Sr. Section Engineer and recommended to detach the coach from the rake. Due to his alertness the defect was detected in time which save detention and avert the chance of any accident.

Shri Rabindra Kumar is a Chief Loco Inspector, Malda Town, while o­n duty noticed that smoke is emitting from a loco and he immediately informed concerned station staff for further course of action.

Shri Upendra Paswan, Signal Maintainer, Gr-1, Malda and Shri Sadeque Ali, Signal Maintainer/Sujnipara noticed failure of track circuit due to rail fracture and immediately informed to signal control and o­n duty SM for necessary action. The alert & attentive action of safety staff, who are working relentlessly round the clock, averted a major accident.
