GENERAL MANAGER FELICITATES RAILWAY EMPLOYEE

FOR EXEMPLARY SAFETY WORK

Kolkata, 14^thDecember 2021:

Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway felicitated Sri Saurav Kumar Gaurav, Gate Keeper, Muri of Ranchi division at this Railway’s Headquarters, Garden Reach today (14.12.2021) for devotion to duty, safety consciousness and commendable performance as frontliner staff.

On 21.09.2021 at 18.50 hrs, Sri Saurav Kumar Gaurav, o­n duty Gate Keeper, while performing duty at a Manned Level Crossing in Muri-Chandil section of Ranchi Division, suddenly noticed that o­ne Tank Wagon of a Goods Train had caught fire o­n the top of the tank. Sri Gaurav immediately reported the matter to o­n duty Station Manager of Latemda regarding the incident. The train was controlled at the next station, Tiruldih and the fire was extinguished.Thus, a fire incident was averted due to alertness and sincerity of Sri Saurav Kumar Gaurav.

99 RAKES CONTAINING MORE THAN 2 LAKH TONNES FOOD GRAINS AND SALT HAVE REACHED SER JURISDICTION DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST

Kolkata, 19^thSeptember, 2020:

South Eastern Railway has taken all possible measures in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic to ensure uninterrupted supply of food grains and other essential commodities. As per the guidelines given by the Ministry of Railways, SER has geared up its entire network for unabated movement of goods trains.

During the month of August, 2020, altogether 2,04,353 tonnes of food grains and Salt have been unloaded from 99 rakes comprising of Rice, Wheat and Salt at different stations and sidings of South Eastern Railway. Out of this 99 rakes of food grains, 61 rakes of Rice, 35 rakes of wheat and 3 rakes of Salt were unloaded.

The rakes were unloaded at different locations of Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi Divisions of South Eastern Railway viz. Kharagpur, Midnapur, Kalaikunda, Rupsa, Sankrail Goods Terminal Yard, Adra, Purulia, Bankura, Bokaro Steel City, Namkon, Tatisilwai, Tatanagar, etc. during the period from 1st August to 31st August, 2020.
