REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR BRIDGE MAINTENANCE WORK IN EAST CENTRAL RAILWAY Kolkata, May 10, 2022: For maintenance of bridge no 1 in between Samastipur & Muktapur stations, 06.00 hours (09:45 hrs. to 14.45 hrs.) Traffic & Power block has been planned on 14.05.2022 (Saturday) & 17.05.2022 (Tuesday). Consequently, 13043 Howrah - Raxaul Express (Journey Commencing on 13.05.2022) & 17005 Hyderabad Decan - Raxaul Express (Journey Commencing on 12.05.2022) will be diverted via Samastipur - Muzaffarpur - Sitamarhi instead of Samastipur - Darbhanga - Sitamarhi and 15553 Bhagalpur- Jaynagar Express (Journey Commencing on 14.05.2022) will be rescheduled by 120 minutes from Bhagalpur. Inconvenience caused to the passengers is deeply regretted. 2

दकà¥à¤·à¤¿à¤£ पशà¥à¤šà¤¿à¤® रेलवे / SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY पà¥à¤°à¥‡à¤¸ विजà¥à¤žà¤ªà¥à¤¤à¤¿ / Press Release No. 340 Dt: 23.09.2021 SWR COMPLETES THE REGIRDERING OF RAILWAY BRIDGE N. 3 BETWEEN TORANGALLU – RANAJITPURA South Western Railway completedthe regirdering of Bridge No - 3 between Torangallu – Ranajitpura in Ballari district on 22.9.2021 and makes it fit for handling 25 tonne axle loads. This will strengthen the load-bearing capacity of the bridge and enable movement of heavier freight trains achieving better throughput. Toranagallu-Ranjitpura is an important branch line and handles freight of Iron Ore traffic from National Mineral Development Corporationmines to Jindal Iron and Steel Company Limited, which is the largest integrated steel plant of India. The old bridge was constructed during meter gauge time. The regirdering has been carried out in a time of 3 hrs 15 min, by suspending the trains on the route by availing traffic block. After regirdering, the strength and load-bearing capacity of the bridge has been enhanced This will enable Railways to operate freight trains with 25 tonne axle loads, and more freight can be transported.
