In line with our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of overall Development of Northeast & Nation Building, the first ever Northeast Half Marathon will be conducted on 5thFebruary, 2023 at Maligaon, Guwahati. A curtain raiser press conference in this regard was held on 25th November, 2022 at the Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) indoor stadium, Maligaon. For organising this first of its kind Northeast Half Marathon, N. F. Railway has joined hands with Innovations India Pvt Ltd. The Half Marathon will be aimed at the empowerment of sportspersons and development of sports infrastructure in Northeast India. Shri Anshul Gupta, GM/NFR along with President NFRSA Shri Rajeev Mahajan gave an insight about the event. Curator of the event Captain Rahul Bali briefed about the marathon, prize money and trophies to be awarded. The press conference also saw the presence of National Cycling Championship Ronaldo Singh & Rojit Singh, Dronacharya Awardee in Boxing Sagarmal Dhayal, International Boxer Kalpana Choudhury & Abdul Barek International Marathon Runner. Dronacharya & Arjuna Awardee Md. Ali Qamar, Former Cricket Player of India ‘A’ Javed Zaman and sports co-ordinator from Railway Sports Promotion Board Sudhir Hooda was also present. The Northeast Half Marathon will be a series of Marathons that would be conducted across North East India with the aim of empowering the sportspersons and development of sporting activity in Northeast India. The first Marathon of the planned series will be held at Maligaon on Sunday 5th February, 2023 and approximately 3000 runners from all across India as well as abroad are expected to participate in the race. Prizes worth Rs. 11 lakhs would be given to the winners in addition to the Trophies, Medals & Certificates. The aspiring participants would be able to register both online as well as offline for the Marathon. The NE Half Marathon would highlight all states of Northeast India as one entity and would surely catapult the complete Northeast Region of India into limelight at both National & International Platforms. Railway is steadfast in its endeavour of Empowering the sportspersons and development of Northeast India apart from connectivity and NE Half Marathon is one such step in that direction. Beyond connectivity and promoting tourism, N. F. Railway is also promoting sporting events in various places within its jurisdiction. Curator of the Event Captain Rahul Bali appreciated the brilliant initiative by N. F. Railway and felt honoured to be the Curator of this prestigious event and contribute towards Nation Building. The details regarding this Half Marathon will be published in all the social media platforms of N. F. Railway. दक्षिण पश्चिम रेलवे / SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY प्रेस विज्ञप्ति / Press Release No. 462 Dt: 17.12.2021 COMMISSIONER OF RAILWAY SAFETY INSPECTS UNKAL - HULKOTI RAILWAY ELECTRIFICATION WORK Shri A.K. Rai, Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bengaluru conducted statutory inspection of Unkal - Hulkoti Railway Electrification work today. The 47 Route KM length of Unkal- Hulkoti Railway Electrification is a part of Hosapete-Hubballi-Londa-Vasco Da Gama Electrification project. It is being executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL). Shri A.K. Rai inspected the Electrified section and checked various safety parameters. He inspected Unkal, SSS Hubballi, Kusugal, Hebsur, Sisvinahalli, Navalgund and Annigeri stations. He inspected Foot Over Bridges, Road Over Bridge, Level Crossing gates, Major & Minor Bridges, Curves in the section He also inspected Sectioning Post (SP) at Sisvinahalli and Sub sectioning & Paralleling Posts (SSPs) at Kusugal & Annigeri. A short circuit test was conducted at Hulkoti. Later a Speed Trial with Electric Loco was conducted from Hulkoti to Unkal. Shri Arvind Malkhede, Hubballi Divisional Railway Manager; Shri Manoj Mahajan, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer; Shri Dinesh Jain, General Manager, RVNL; Shri Srinivasulu, Joint General Manager/RVNL and other Officers were present.
