SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY Press Release No. 261 Dt. 09.03.2019 SWR CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL WOMAN’S DAY On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Smt. Sujata Singh, The President of SWRWWO/HQ inaugurated “Little Oaks" Creche at Rail Soudha on 08.03.2019. The colorful crèche attracts kids with lots of informative wall paintings and is also well furnished with smart television, refrigerator, geyser, induction stove, good bedding and accessories for small kids. The creche is especially beneficial for lady railway employees with kids in the age group of 6 months to 7 years. This Creche was designed and developed by South Western Railway Women's Welfare Organisation Smt. Sujata Singh and Shri A.K. Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway also inaugurated the International women’s day celebration at Rail Soudha on 08.03.2019. It was held under the president ship of Shri V. Rajeevan, Principal Chief Personnel Officer. Later “S” Three Abhiyan - Towards Smarter, Stronger and Safer Women was presented by Dr. Malathi, ACHD/UBL, Dr. Laxmi and Dr. Suji from Central Hospital / Hubballi. Smt. Sujata Singh also distributed the prizes to all the winners of the various competitions on this occasion. SWR HQ had organized an event on the theme “Women Empowerment” under Central Staff Benefit Fund (CSBF) on 07.03.2019 at Chalukya Railway Institute, Gadag Road, Hubballi. Women employees from all the divisions/ Workshop of SWR competed in various competitions like Fancy dress with the theme of Inspiring/ Well Known Women, Pick and speak on topics r with focus on women issues, and Rangoli competition. The winners of these competitions are as under:

Shri P.K. Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway, declared open the 28th All India Railway Cricket Championship for Women 2014-15 here at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad today i.e. 9thFebruary, 2015. South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) is organising the championship matches scheduled to be held from 9th to 15thFebruary, 2015. Total of eight teams of various Zones are participating in the championship. The participants include South Central Railway, Eastern Railway, North Frontier Railway, Western Railway, Northern Railway, Southern Railway, Central Railway and North Central Railway. Shri P.K. Srivastava called upon the participants to show true sportsmanship in the matches and bring laurels to the Cricket on Indian Railways. He said that it is proud to have two Padmashri Awardees and many legendary women cricketers on Indian Railways. On the opening day match, South Central Railway under the captaincy of Mithali Raj won over Eastern Railway by 5 wickets. Toss was won by SCR and elected to bowl, Eastern Railway scored 155 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs. In return SCR scored 156 in 42.5 overs, T. Shani scored 44 runs, S.Himabindu 30, Shalini with 29 stood as best performers. In another match held at Athletic grounds Western Railway won over North Frontier Railway. Toss was won by North Frontier Railway and elected to bat. NF Railway scored 96 runs for 10 wickets in 46.5 overs. In return Western Railway scored 100 runs for 2 wickets in 24.5 overs. (M.
