MDTC COMPLETES THE TRAINING AND EXAM OF PROBATIONARY STATION MASTERS AMIDST COVID19 PANDEMIC

The initial training programme in progress at Multi Disciplinary Training Centre (MDTC) Dharwad for 97 Probationary Station Masters had been suspended suddenly from 19.03.2020, due to the Covid19 situation. Since the last several months, their promotion, training and posting was held up due to the Covid situation. Rising to this challenge, for the balance portion of the theory classes, classes were conducted in o­nline mode for the trainees. They had all been working as Points man/woman in various stations across SWR.

Now, between 03.08.2020 to 12.08.2020, their practical training was held at MDTC Dharwad, in batches of 30-35 trainees at at time for every three days. The practical training involves safety aspects related to Block Operations, dealing of trains during signal and track failures, accidents and disasters etc. Social distancing norms during their stay in the hostel and during their practical training was scrupulously maintained as per the directives issued by the Govt of India. A Dormitory with 3 beds was designated as 'Quarantine cum Isolation Room' should the need arise. Medical Officers from SWR provided services of medical screening to each of the trainee-candidate.

The final written exam was completed o­n 13.08.2020 for these 97 trainees. They are soon set to join each of the Divisions of SWR, as Asst Station Masters, o­nce they are declared passed in the exam.

SER BHARAT SCOUTS & GUIDES PROVIDES FOOD AND RATIONS TO NEEDY COMMUNITY PEOPLE

 

Kolkata, 12th July, 2020:

 

South Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides played a crucial role in services to the needy community people during lockdowns in the wake of national crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic. SER Bharat Scouts & Guides is the disciplined voluntary organisation with full of patriotism for serving the nation. They are always ready for any task and have been working in services to the mankind in the most difficult situations. This has been spread over four Divisions of South Eastern Railway viz.Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur , Ranchi along with other units .

 

Ever since the lockdown was imposed due to Novel Coronavirus, South Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides have altogether distributed 76,821 cooked meals with variety of items in veg and non-veg and 3,16,084 dry ration packets comprising of rice, pulses, spices, o­nions, potatoes , soyabeans, garlic, edible oiletc. to the helpless, needy & wretched community people in the vicinity of railway areas all over South Eastern Railway.The badly affected people are mainly daily wage workers, rickshaw pullers, coolies and their familiesand also slum dwellers,beggars, vagabonds etc. When people dare not to come outside from their homes, the Rangers, Rovers and other young Scouts & Guides of SER have assisted the downtrodden and poorer sections of the society.

 

Apart from these, SER Bharat Scouts & Guides have produced and distributed 25,876 face masks amongst the helpless and poor people to contain the spread of COVID-19. SER Scouters have conductedmany mass awareness campaign to wear face masks and maintain social distancing amongst the surrounding community people. SER Bharat Scouts & Scouts have also arranged Blood Donation Camps for the needy and serious patients of the community. These have been done to uplift the morale of the poorer sections of the society.

 

South Eastern Railway Bharat Scouts & Guides is committed to continue these philanthropic services longing till the COVID-19 pandemic is disappeared from the country.
