| KOTTAVALASA-KORAPUT-KIRANDUL (KK) LINE DOUBLING PROJECT: Construction for 58% of total stretch completed. | KOTTAVALASA-KORAPUT-KIRANDUL (KK) LINEDOUBLING PROJECT: â—Construction for 58% of total stretch completed. â—Shrungavarapukota & Boddavara Section, a distance of 7.3 KMs with 1 in 60 Steep Gradient in the Eastern Ghat commissioned. â—259.5 Kms crucial Doubling Work of the project completed out of 445.5 Kms long important Iron Ore Route. The construction work for crucial Doubling work of Kottavalasa-Koraput-Kirandul (KK) line under Waltair Division of East Coast Railway is going on full swing. More than 58/% of construction works of this project have been completed, till now. A patch of 7.3Kms between Shrungavarapukota & Boddavara Stations has been completed and commissioned yesterday for both Goods and Passenger Traffic. This has been possible due to consistent review of project works by Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji. General Manager Shri Manoj Sharma advised concerned officials to focus for the speedy completion of various project works for the critical projects. Shri Sharma also advised officials to coordinate with stake holders including State Government officials for early completion of the projects. Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw is giving priority for the Development of Railway infrastructure of the remote Tribal region along with various project works going in the remote Tribal Region of Northern AP, Odisha & Chhattisgarh and also is monitoring the developmental works regularly. Doubling Work in KK line will boost to the economy of the region and will provide a hassle free train operations in the crucial Eastern Ghat region. Doubling Work in KK Line (445.5 Kms) project was included in 2011-12 and the final Sanction was given in2015-16. Works between Shrungavarapukota & Boddavara Stations, a stretch of 7.3KMs was completed and commissioned yesterday with 1 in 60 Steep gradient in the Eastern Ghats. This is a crucial tough Block Section in the important iron ore route. With this, a total of 259.5 Kms doubling work of KK Line is commissioned so far in phased manner which is 58% of total length of the project. Two more Block Sections in either side of Araku have been targeted to be completed in next two months.
