Railway Launches The First Ever High Capacity Parcel Van on LHB Capable to run upto 130 kmph & 24 Ton Total Carrying Capacity

Purnendu.S.Mishralaunchesthefirst ever High Capacity Parcel Van o­n LHB at Delhi Safdarjung Railway stationtoday i.e. o­n 30.01.2020.Shri Ravinder Gupta, General Manager, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala and other Senior Railway Officers were also present o­n the occasion.

Designed and Manufactured by Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, this is the first ever High Capacity Parcel Van o­n LHB platform . It has successfully completed oscillation trials and has been issued with speed certificate by RDSO for 130 Kmph.

LHB Parcel Van has total carrying capacity of 24 ton and total volume of 187 m3 . To facilitate transportation of wide goods, foldable 2-tier luggage racks have been provided. These coaches have three collapsible partitions and four number of sliding doors.

The coach has complete stainless steel interior paneling and fitted with 140 KN air suspension. It is also equipped with axle mounted disc brakes and anti climbing CBC coupler with transition screw coupling. The coach shall have fire balls inside to douse any fire inside.

The LHB parcel vans have been provided with flushed-in type fire retardant LED lights. This coach is HOG compliant with both end connectivity. This coach can be attached at any position in the rake.

The LHB parcel van will generate revenue for Indian Railway through Parcel transportation business.

Further, RCF is in process of development of E-commerce Parcel Van with a volume capacity 210 m3 and speed potential of 160 Kmph. The coach will be equipped with load cell to indicate pay load and GPS tracker.

Ø32 nos foldable 2 tier luggage racks for efficient staking of small parcels.

ØSliding doors with protection wall for ease of loading and unloading.

Ø03 nos collapsible partition-04 compartments for modular use.

ØTare weight=33.5 T; luggage carrying capacity=24T

ØStainless steel shell o­n LHB platform for longer life.

ØFiat bogie with 140 kn air suspension for smooth ride.

ØAxle mounted disc brakes (2.48 caliper ratio) with wheel slide protection system for rapid and effective braking.

ØAnti climbing CBC coupler with transition screw coupling & side buffer for safe and reliable coupling with high speed trains.

Ø02 RFID tags provided o­n car body.

ØAxle end cover provided with earthing arrangement.

ØFleet graphic film o­n coach exterior in red and silver grey as per LHB color scheme.

CR Women Hockey Team wins Gold Medal

 

Central Railway Women Hockey team won the Gold medal in the 41st All India Railway Women Hockey Championship 2019-20 organized by RCF Sports Association at Kapurthala from 07/11/2019 to 13/11/2019.

Eleven teams from various zones had participated in this championship. Central Railway beat South Eastern Railway team by 5 – 1 and entered in the semifinals. Then in very thrilling and tense environment where the crowd support was for the host side, Central Railway played very aggressively and beat RCF, in semifinal by 1-0 and reached the finals. Preeti Dubey of CR scored goal in the 57 minute o­n short corner.

 

In final match, Central Railway and Northern Railway tried hard but the game ended in draw. In the penalty shootout Central Railway beat Northern Railway by 3 – 1. CR had good team strength in which six players Ms. Sushila Chanoo, Ms. Vandana Kataria, E Rajani, Renuka Yadav, Monika who had participated in the Rio Olympics games 2016. In a nail biting penalty shootout, Preeti Dubey, Monika & Lalruatfeli hit the target and grabbed the gold. Poonamma was captain of Central Raiway team andSushila Chanu,Vandana Katariya, Lalhumawil of CR perfom exceptionally well throught the tournament. Central Railway goal keeper Ms. E. Rajani with her good defense saved four goals. Ms. Helen Mary was the coach of Central Railway Women Hockey team and Ms Sarita Grover was Asst coach for this championship.
