Alipurduar Division of N.F.Railway has launched a cleanliness campaign at the accident site at Km. 244 in the Salakati - Basugaon section in Kokrajhar district of Assam as part of the ongoing Railyatri Upbhokta Pakhwada. Railway men led by the Divisional Railway Manager of Alipurduar Division Shri Sanjeev Kishore accompanied by other senior railway officers and Safaiwala staff pledged to keep their restoration site clean where hundreds of railway personnel work in a war footing in case of accidents. This is an one of a kind initiative by the Division as restoration sites like these where large number of railwaymen work for days together become breeding grounds of germs and infections. Welfare of railwaymen working in such difficult conditions is often overlooked and such an initiative will set high standards for hygiene among railway staff. This is an accident site where a derailment was caused by a fallen tree in a remote area in Kokrajhar district of Assam. (Pranav Jyoti Sharma) CPRO/N.F.Railway |
