TO STOP AT BARDDHAMAN STATION
•Timings of Howrah – New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Express & Kolkata – Balurghat Express to be revised

Kolkata, December 29, 2022

Railway has decided to provide stoppage of 12042/12041 New Jalpaiguri-Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Express (except Sunday) at Barddhaman station.

Due to provision of stoppage at Barddhaman the timings of 12042/12041 New Jalpaiguri-Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Express at some stations will be revised with effect from 30.12.2022. The revised timings (arrival & departure) are as under : 

  12041 Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Express (except Sunday) : Howrah – Dep. 14.25 hrs. Barddhaman – Arr. 15.27 hrs., Dep. 15.29 hrs. Bolpur Shantiniketan – Arr. 16.13 hrs., Dep. 16.15 hrs. New Farakka – Arr. 18.42 hrs., Dep. 18.43 hrs. Malda Town – Arr. 19.30 hrs., Dep. 19.35 hrs. Barsoi – Arr. 20.45 hrs., Dep. 20.46 hrs. Kishanganj – Arr. 21.25 hrs., Dep. 21.27 hrs. New Jalpaiguri – Arr. 22.55 hrs. 

 12042 New Jalpaiguri-Howrah Shatabdi Express (except Sunday) : Barddhaman – Arr. 12.16 hrs., Dep. 12.18 hrs. Howrah – Arr. 13.45 hrs. The timings at all other stations will remain same.

Due to above revision of timings, the timings of 13161 Kolkata-Balurghat Express will also be revised with effect from 30.12.2022 as under:

International Day of Yoga (IDY-2022) celebrated all over N.F. Railway

International Day of Yoga (IDY-2022) was celebrated o­n 21st June, 2022 throughout N.F. Railway in a befitting manner. Yoga practice sessions were organised at headquarters, all divisions and workshops to spread awareness among the masses about the importance of Yoga and its effects upon human health. The theme for International Yoga Day – 2022 was “Yoga For Humanity”.

The central programme of N.F. Railway o­n the occasion of the International Yoga Day-22 was organised at the Batasia loop of the world famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State of Railways and Textiles was present as the Chief Guest o­n the occasion. Shri Anshul Gupta, General Manager, N.F. Railway along with other senior officials was present o­n the occasion. About 200 people, including school children, CISF, CRPF, HMI, railway officials etc., participated in the live Yoga practice along with the Union Minister at this iconic UNESCO World Heritage site. The event was celebrated at the backdrop of the snow capped peaks of Mount Kanchanjunga.

In her speech Hon’ble Minister emphasised o­n the need for Yoga practice o­n everybody’s life.  She also endorsed the ability of, celebrated through the mega event of IDY, to bring about peace and harmony in the world.

The event started by listening to the speech of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, via live video link to the IDY event at Mysuru, Karnataka.

In NFR Headquarters, the IDY programme was held at the Railway Indoor Stadium, Maligaon where railway officers and staff participated wholeheartedly with their family. In divisions, the IDY-2022 was observed at all important railway stations and offices. The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm with participation of thousands of railway employees and their family members all across NFR.

N. F. Railway also used various social media platforms to create extensive awareness amongst common people about the benefit of doing Yoga.

As everyone knows, Yoga is an invaluable ancient practice of India, with multiple physical and mental health benefits. It is globally accepted for its proven positive impact o­n general health and role as a stress reliever.
