Mega Block o­n Harbour Line o­n 26.09.2021

Central Railway will operate Mega Block o­n Harbour line for carrying out maintenance work o­n 26.09.2021 as under-

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Chunabhatti / Bandra Dn harbour line from 11.40 am to 4.40 pm &
Chunabhatti / Bandra - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Up harbour line from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm

Dn Harbour line services to Vashi /Belapur/Panvel leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai/ Vadala Road from 11.34 am to 4.47 pm and Dn Harbour line services to Bandra/Goregaon leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 09.56 am to 4.43 pm will remain suspended.

Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 9.53 am to 3.20 pm and Up Harbour line services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Goregaon/ Bandra from 10.45 am to 4.58 pm will remain suspended.

However, Special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No.8) during the block period.

Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Main Line and Western Railway from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during block period.
On Main Line there is a 10 hours special block already announced o­n Up Slow line between Diva and Thane in connection with 5th and 6th Line.

These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.

Shri Alok Kansal – General Manager of Western Railway inaugurated a mega blood donation drive organized by Rotary Club at Churchgate station o­n Wednesday, 22nd September, 2021. The ‘Rotary Life –Saving Express’ campaign, an initiative of Rotary Club is being undertaken at important stations of Western Railway, encouraging passengers to participate in this noble act of kindness.

According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, GM Shri Kansal stated that donating blood is o­ne of the biggest humanitarian acts a person can do in their lifetime. He emphasized o­n the point that o­ne unit of blood can save many lives. Recently, Shri Kansal had donated blood at a camp held at Churchgate station & appealed to the railway fraternity to inculcate a habit of this noble deed. The Rotary Club aims to collect 20000 bottles of blood in a year. This drive is being held across major suburban railway stations of Western Railway viz. Churchgate, Dadar, Bandra, Andheri, Borivali, Vasai Road, Virar, etc. o­n the first day itself almost 500 bottles of blood were collected.

Shri Thakur further stated to instill a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness amongst railway staff and passengers, GM participated in Shramdaan at Churchgate premises. Reiterating the words of Mahatma Gandhi “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”, GM Shri Kansal set yet another example by operating the mechanized Cleaning Machine and also partook in the cleanliness activity alongwith OSD/ Swachhta Mission, Rotarians. He appealed everyone to ensure cleanliness in every corner of their surroundings. He emphasized & quoted that cleanliness shall keep o­ne’s body & mind healthy and drive Corona away. Thereafter, he interacted with media persons wherein he apprised the media about the various initiatives being taken by WR to ease travelling of Mumbaikars. He appealed through media to the public to actively participate in the Swachhta Mission launched by Hon’ble PM years ago. He is a strong believer in “Soch Badlegi toh Desh Badlega” and Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas in every walk of life.
