Railway week  award function presided over by Shri Pramod Kumar, General Manager, North Central Railway was organised o­n the occasion of 67th Rail Week, at North Central Railway Headquarters . 

General Manager North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar and President North Central Railway Women's Welfare Organization, Smt. Poonam Kumar were welcomed by Chief Personnel Officer Shri Awadhesh Kumar, o­n arrival at the venue.

The program started with the lighting of lamp by General Manager North Central Railway Shri Pramod Kumar and President of North Central Railway Women Welfare Organization Smt. Poonam Kumar. o­n this occasion, colorful cultural programs full of folk dances were presented by the cultural team of North Central Railway and the child artists. First in the series of cultural programs - welcome song, followed by Ganesh Vandana, Mahishasur Mardani dance, Katai folk dance, Ghar Aao Pardesiya dance and Badhaai folk dance were presented.

155 outstanding railway personnel were awarded o­n the occasion, including a group award. Apart from this, their performance was appreciated by providing running shields to all the three divisions, factories, hospitals and other units. General Manager also distributed the certificates and medals to 08  awardees of 66th National Rail Awards. This included, Shri Shyam Lal, Loco Pilot / Mail, Shri Vishnukant Tiwari Dy FA&CAO / Construction, CMLR and Wagon Repair Workshop, Jhansi, Shri Dilip Kumar Rajput-Sr DSTE/ Signal, Shri Shashikant Tripathi Sr DOM / Coordination, Mohd. Javed Akhtar - Deputy Chief Engineer / Construction, Shri Gaurav - Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Shri Bhuvnesh Singh - Senior Divisional Engineer / Central, Shri Dilip Singh Meena - Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer.

In his address o­n this occasion, the General Manager, while congratulating all the attendees and the award recipients, said, “I warmly congratulate all of you o­n this occasion and despite all the oddities, the records made by North Central Railway. Congratulations to all of you for the achievements."
He further said, “No doubt all of us railway personnel are extremely proud of the glorious development journey of 169 years of Indian Railways. Over the years, Railways have traveled a long and pleasant journey, adapting with the times. It has updated itself by all kinds of latest technology and has achieved a commendable position in the field of freight transportation and passenger facilities. In order to take Indian Railways to this point of progress, all our hardworking railway workers have made incomparable and tireless contribution in every situation.

To express our gratitude towards the remarkable contribution made by all the railway personnel of North Central Railway, today, o­n the occasion of this annual railway function, we have gathered to reward our hardworking and committed railway personnel for the excellent work performed by them. It is expected from these award-winning railwaymen that their performance and efforts will improve further in future. I am sure that these railway employees will inspire their other colleagues as well.”

Referring to the aspects of staff welfare and Human Resource Management, Shri Pramod Kumar said that, “Keeping in mind the improvement in the quality of work, 24,462 railway employees were given training during last year. A total of 1279 complaints received through various channels (CPGRAMS, NIVARAN, MP/VIP/Rly.Board) have been resolved during this period, which is 96.73 per cent of the total complaints received. During the year 2021-22, a total of 8211 employees were given the benefit of promotion through selection, suitability and trade test and during this compassionate appointment was given to the dependents of 523 railway employees.

Contracts have been signed with 48 private hospitals for better medical facility to railway employees. Railway Women's Welfare Organization has always played an active role in helping the needy railway workers and tried to make their lives better. Education is also being provided by the Women's Welfare Organization to the children of the railway family through the primary schools. Creche is also being operated by NCRWWO at the headquarters, which is benefitting the women employees. I take this opportunity to appreciate the welfare work of NCRWWO.

Indian Railways is committed to provide world class facilities to its passengers at Railway stations said Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology during his visit to Khajuraho Jhansi National Highway / Expressway.

During his visit, Hon'ble Minister of Railways reviewed the works done in the Pradhan Mantri Gram Yojana in Bundelkhand region. Hon’ble Minister took stock of the development projects of Maharaja Chhatrasal Convention Center area. Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Shri Virendra Kumar and other public representatives were also present during the inspection.

During his interaction, Hon’ble Minister of Railways announced the operation of Vande Bharat Express from Khajuraho. He said that two rake points have been approved at Chhatarpur and Khajuraho. Along with this, he also said that rail tickets can now be obtained from 45,000 post offices. Soon ROB/RUB will be constructed at important places, he added. He also mentioned about the operation of Bharat Gaurav trains like Ramayana Express, Electrification which is to be completed by August. By that time, Vande Bharat will also start rolling out. He said that the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister ‘The Government is to serve the people’ has to be followed in spirit while doing development of the region.

Hon'ble Minister of Railways also informed about the redevelopment of Khajuraho station to make it a world class station. Hon'ble Minister, along with the local administration and Railways, encouraged the farmers to set up solar plants o­n their land so that their income could increase. Pilot project is to be started with Bundelkhand. The land is to be identified soon. Kisan Morcha, Railway and District Administration to jointly identify the location. He also informed that o­ne Station o­ne Product Scheme is also being expanded so that local level products will be made available in the market through stations. 1000 stations will be included under this scheme, in which Chhatarpur station will also be included. He said that limestone industries near Panna are important. Panna is to be linked with Railways.

On this occasion, General Manager of North Central Railway, Shri Pramod Kumar, General Manager of West Central Railway, Shri Sudhir Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Ashutosh along with District Collector, Superintendent of Police and officers of Railway Administration and District Administration were also present.
