ØUSBRL Project to be completed by Jan/Feb-2024 ØAllocated Rs.6000 crores in the year2022-23, before 2014 this allocation was 800 crores per year. ØAfter connecting with Udhampur- Srinagar- Baramulla train service specially built Vande Bharat train will be started ØKashmir Valley will be soon connected to Indian Railways network Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology,Govt. of India arrived at Chenab Bridge in Kashmir Valley today to see the progress of the USBRL Project. General Manager Northern Railway, Shri Ashutosh Gangal, M.D/ KRCL, Shri Sanjay Gupta, CAO/C, USBRL, Shri S.P. Mahi , Divisional Railway Manager,Ferozpur, Dr. Seema Sharma, and other senior railway officials of Northern Railway and USBRL project welcomed the Hon’ble Minister. Officials of the USBRL Project briefed the Railway Minister about the world’s highest railway bridge Chenab and progress of the project. The Hon'ble Minister conducted a trolley inspection of the Chenab Bridge and tunnels of the USBRL project to see the progress of the work and gave instructions to officials for its timely completion. The Hon'ble Minister appreciated the hard work of all the railway staff involved in this project and their dedication towards duty besides various challenges and adverse conditions. Shri Vaishnaw said that all efforts are being done to complete the remaining work. Hon'ble Minister also interacted with major metro cites media persons siting in zonal headquarters showcasing seamless network connectivity at highest railway bridge pan India. Video and audio arrangements were provided at the world's highest Railway bridge at Chinab river by providing 300 MBPS Internet bandwidth from JIO, 100 MBPS Airtel Internet network , 100 MBPS BSNL Internet as well as on OFC cable from Salal. While addressing the media persons gathered there across the Nation, Shri Vaishnaw announced the following: ØUSBRL Project to be completed by Jan/Feb-2024 ØAllocated Rs.6000 crores in the year2022-23, before 2014 this allocation was 800 crores per year. ØAfter connecting with Udhampur- Srinagar- Baramulla train service specially built Vande Bharat train will be started. ØA Special Training Academy for Engineers will be created at Jammu. PALANPUR – SAMAKHIYALI NEW DOUBLE LINE COMMISSIONED Chhansara – Piprala section (24 km) completed & commissioned With this, the entire Palanpur – Samakhiyali Doubling Project of 247.73 km has been completed Will help to decongest the train movements &improve the punctuality of trains Photo caption: Various views of the newly constructed Chhansara – Piprala New Double Line section. Western Railway is contributing immensely in the infrastructural development of railways in Gujarat and in the last few years, tremendous boost has been given to new line, gauge conversion, electrification, doubling and other infrastructural upgradations along with enhancement of passenger amenities. In this direction, Western Railway has completed the work of doubling between Chhansara – Piprala (24 km) over Ahmedabad division which is part of the Palanpur – Samakhiyali Doubling Project (247.73 km). With the commissioning of this section, the entire Palalanpur – Samakhiyali double line project has been commissioned. According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, recently, the new double line of 24 km between Chhansara -Piprala stations was completed in Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway. This section is part of the Palanpur – Samakhiyali Doubling Project. The section has been opened at a speed of 100 kmph. Giving further details of the recently completed Chhansara – Piprala section, Shri Thakur stated that this section has 2 Major bridges and 15 Minor bridges. Among these major bridges, oÂne bridge is of PSC Slab of 4 x 12.2 m span and another oÂne is span of 3 x 6.1 m. The Palanpur – Samakhiyali Doubling Project passes through the districts of Banaskantha and Patan in the state of Gujarat and is a very crucial project as it primarily carries freight traffic from various ports of Kutch region towards the North and Western parts of the country. This will help in the socio - economic development of these regions. **************
